Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
I really want to know what happened to Christmas and It's exciting ways? I'm a little bit older than 12 years old now and I find myself dreading the Eve of, and the day itself. I am curious to what other people have to look forward to? I could use a bit of help with the reason's people find It necessary to gather and exchange gifts in a lot of uncomfortable ways. Call me a downer, but I find my year Is complete while watching my children open gifts, and imagining their joy/curiosity of a real Santa.
The adult part of the whole situation I find very confounded.

Because to far too many, it's an empty secular consumerist holiday filled with exchanging plastic trinkets that nobody needs and only want to fill the emptiness of our modern hearts.

Alcohol and a different group of people is the answer you seek.

Because you try to make the day into a gif and the good holy day of Christmas cannot be turned into an action picture.

I'm not trying that hard to do anything. It's an honest question.
My reason for GIF usage Is that they have a way of getting a small Point across better than a drawn-out literal phrase.

I hate the commercial side of Christmas but the joy I get having all the kids and their families together at our house is a thrill alone. Our nine grandkids range from 1 1/2 to 19 years and I enjoy the uniqueness of each personality. I don’t care about presents but I get a thrill watching them open their presents. As our kids and their families get older they don’t have a chance to get together as often as they would like. Seeing our kids have an opportunity to be together is great as the wife and I can reflect on the paths they have taken and their successes.

I suggest you look for the simple things in life and you might find the meaning of Christmas.

God Bless

Thanksgiving is being thankful for stuff (the harvest). Christmas is being thankful for people. Look around cherish those that are important. Celebrate the connections that help you get thru the day. Support you on bad days. This is where joy lives.

Lost my daddy 12/3.

Last 3 weeks have been tearful and hard to deal with but I’ll second embracing those around you.

Love the ones you still have. Live life with no regrets in telling loved ones around you how much they mean to you.

Sorry for your loss Johnny. I lost my pops about 15 years ago and the moms is successfully battling cancer thus far. It's always there, but it does get easier with time. Got to love the ones you still have for every single minute.

For me, it’s about family and exchanging the stories and memories of those who have come before us.

The trinkets are just small expressions, but the real joy is in sharing the moment of each other’s company.

While I do respect the birth of Jesus, I no longer believe Christmas was the time of his birth, so I don’t celebrate it for those reasons like I did when I was a child. However, I do value the nativity story and see the parallels that run with family and love. In that sense, I do perceive the holiday as revering Christ.

Merry Christmas, Circa, and everyone else in the thread.
