They've shown they will pay really well for the elite talent and they're still getting some shine from their title.

A lot of that will wear off if they don't show a ton of improvement this year

Yep. When we're out of the mix on a good recruit from Indiana or Chicagoland, this (or academics) is usually why. And that's OK. We fish in a bigger sea anyway. We're not State U that needs to put a fence around our turf.
