The camp stuff even goes back 30+ years. We had a kid on my high school basketball team that was ranked in the Top 100 of some ranking. He a 6'8" slow kid who averaged 2pt and 2rebounds a game. I was 5'10" and a year younger at the time and averaged much more than that.

Maybe some lousy state ranking by a beat writer but no way that guy was NATIONALLY ranked averaging a double deuce 🤣🤣

Let's put it this way...when I was in 6th grade, he was in 7th. We were at camp that had a 1:1 tournament. He was about 6'3" by then. Maybe 6'4". My buddy made the finals against him. He was about 5', maybe 5'2".

He beat this kid.

Fun Fact: My buddy is now the Founder and CEO of ReachTV. If you go to just about any airport in the US, the tv's will be playing ReachTV. Dude started and owns his own network. They partner with every major sports league and big networks in addition to their own content. All from a kid who lived in squalor as a foster kid.

The 6'4" kid was a statue. The 5'3" kid was really quick. I sat their watching frustrated that the big mamaluke was trying to get around him rather than just backing him down and posting him up. It was crazy.
