Few thought:

(1) He definitely lost weight during the off-season. He looks like a D-tackle on film but he looks "skinny" in that announcement. Probably will be a guy that has more to worry about putting on weight in then losing bad weight during football season.

(2) Seems to have long arms and is an active hands fighter. I like that in my D-tackles.

(3) Doesn't look quick-twitchy but is a pretty good athlete for his size. Makes good persuit even when the play is behind him.

Might never become a big time NFL prospect but he's definitely someone I'd be happy to have doing dirty work in the trenches.

I don't follow recruiting as closely as a lot of people here, but the number of recruits pulled from Texas and SEC territory is very head turning to me.
The worm seems to have turned a bit. ND appears to be reaping the fruit of their harvest now. They've been in the south for a minute and it's now paying dividends.

10 of their 15 current currents are from the south. And with the current trajectory they're looking at, that ratio is only going to go up with guys like Walton, Vallejo, Golden, Finley, Brown and Reddish leaning towards ND.

It’s been great to see how well they have been recruiting Texas. I wonder if a big reason Freeman pursued Blanchard so hard was to help try and build out a pipeline there

I thought the same. Blanchard would have been the goldminer in the goldmine. Hated that we missed out on him, but I think ND ended up in a good position.
