I feel this. I've been playing a game where I look at the other top 10 recruiting classes and asking which I would trade for. I haven't found one where I would conclusively make the trade.

Georgia, SC, Bama, Texas, and Oregon all have great classes, OSU has a bunch of guys that I liked as prospects, but I can't say I would trade our class for any of theirs.

I also think when a coach gets fired and dudes immediately start jumping ship, I take pause with that. Especially now more than ever in this day and age.

When the muck starts flying and you're in the trenches, is this dude going to bail on you or knuckle up and stay in the fight?

Open season is open season, but if the shoe were on the other foot, I would hope guys would stay committed to ND.

Ethan Thomas, Blair, Pouncey, O’Brien and Sieg at safety is way too much. You got two spots for 5 guys. Also O’Brien was told he would get a shot playing both ways if he wants

Ethan Thomas? You mean Ethan Long? He is already on campus and was a '25 recruit
Blair is a safety from the '25 class
Pouncey was recruited as a corner by ND
Reddish is the nickel/hybrid

Essentially, the 2026 class only has one true safety currently. I think Seig would be a decent addition to the class, but you gotta stop asking for EVERY single player to get a position change. There is a reason they are being recruited for a certain position.

He visited and considered WVU the first time around and has an OV scheduled. Whereas we didn’t offer until he was already committed.

Wherever James Franklin ends up is rather self explanatory considering relationship with him and possible staff.

Have to embrace the concept that the 'Bama's, Georgia's, LSU's and Texas's of the world had and take all the "ELITE" talent you can and figure it out later. We never ponder when the player is an under the radar 2*-3* type recruit so we should embrace and welcome every 4* type talent we can get, especially on D were we seem to be snake bitten every year. We got 6 secondary members in '25 and we've signed 5 so far in '26, we can even it up especially for a player like Sieg as opposed to some less talented guy eventually filling the slowly or a transfer down the line.
