Could be, or it could just be laying the groundwork on a replacement incase Ausberry trends elsewhere. Driskell and Shaun Davis believe that ND leads for Ausberry and it's possible that he could pop this summer.

Driskell & Davis together seem like sunshine pumpers now that Freeman is HC.
They keep talking up guys they say they feel really good about that multiple sites don’t.
They talk to a kid & of course that kid talks up ND because they are ND reporters. So then they use that as fuel for their predictions.
They talk up Freeling like ND is the leader coming off his visit.
Other sites say they talked to sources in Freelings camp and he has no leader, that the ND visit took ND from being out of it to back in it. And that he is starting from zero & letting OVs in the fall decide.

Ausberry and M'Pemba are the 2 main targets at LB and Hall wouldn't have had a spot unless we knew we weren't getting either of them.

Mel Tucker is not that young. He’s 50, and has been in the game for a while. Albeit, still somewhat newer on the scene in college football. In contrast, MF is 35 and has coached one career game.

But I see your point.

MSU also just had one of their better seasons in the last decade. They have a pretty decent class at the moment. Tons of momentum in East Lansing.
