This kid is #1 on my list of QBs we have a shot at. He has easy gas and great touch. Irish Breakdown did a real nice piece disecting his throws

I agree. He did very well at camps. I don’t agree by any means with not an all in approach on him and Novosad at the same time. Minchey should have been on campus in April if he’s interested. This should not be a get behind the line sort of recruitment (if that’s the case). I feel like it is because that’s how Rees has done it. He needs to learn a lesson and man up. If he’s as stubborn on the field as he is in recruiting, we aren’t going to adjust well at half.

Dante Moore was “committed” in April so why would Rees have a Plan C on campus? Hindsight is always 20/20.

Why would you not have a plan C on campus in April? I’m not a fan of all in QB recruiting.

Because you had a kid tell you "I'm committed". I'm not sure what people don't get about that.

Now if you want to criticize them for not getting additional QB's on campus in late May/Early June then by all means go ahead, I'm with you there.

Sayin and Carr visited in the spring and then landed Carr in the summer. That doesn’t factor in?

I mean any discussion on QB recruiting where you’re saying landing maybe the best ND QB prospect in a decade doesn’t matter to me is I don’t know, an odd discussion to me. Carr’s commitment timeline was directly tied into Dante Moore’s recruitment.
Also there appeared - at least for a while - to be a very real possibility that Carr reclassified. That ship seems to have sailed but between Moore and Carr I'm not sure why we'd have been going after second-tier '23s in, like, May. Especially ones who are publicly committed to other schools.

Securing Carr was a more important task than securing Novosad, Minchey etc. Should Rees do both? Yes of course but they aren’t two separate things. He secured the 5 star QB first.

OSU landed Raiola before hosting Novosad or Glenn.

Loy continues to say it's not off the table (yet)...though actions + the timeline for that (end of this summer to decide) definitely lead me to believe it's not happening.

This is a good point. But if we don’t get a 4 star in ‘23, that’s back to back mediocrity.

Unfortunately, getting a commit from a 24 recruit is somewhat meaningless as regard to the actual depth chart. It will be meaningful if he makes it to campus and even then, not until 2024 of 25.

IMO, the 23 class is much more important.

I really want this one to work out
1) Cause I think he's a better prospect than Novosad
2) I really want to hear the story of how Narduzzi threw his computer out the office window when we flipped his most important commit

Loy says that he doesn't think it'd make sense for Minchey to flip to ND. FWIW

With his tirade Narduzzi only confirmed even more any Pickett-Addison credit should go to coaches that have left Pitt. Whipple is at Nebraska, Marion now at Texas

Neg recruit it up. Narduzzi wants to run the ball and win 17-10.

He mentioned that the depth chart at Pitt sets up better for him than ND's.

In the age of the free transfer I think depth chart issues should be easier to overcome for ND. Come to Notre Dame and red shirt, and worst case scenario if for whatever reason things don’t work out due to QB competition, leave after 3 years with a Notre Dame degree and training under Rees. You’d still have 2 years of eligibility to get playing time for a school like Pitt before potentially getting drafted or signed.

Best case scenario you start at ND and compete for championships. Seems like a no brainer.

Minchey could play at ND. He’d be the best QB on the roster if Buchner goes down. Pyne is very likely to transfer. If Buchner goes down or sucks it up, the job is wide open. Angeli is not a future draft pick. Not getting a legit QB in ‘23 is a dagger.

Angeli, who has played a down of college football, is not a future draft pick? I mean, are you basing this off of his high school rankings or what?

I bet most people would've pegged Book for the same, not future draft pick, and here we are.

Angeli was ranked in the mid-300s in the 247 composite. Minchey is currently 320. And FWIW, the ISD rankings have Angeli at a 92 with Novosad at a 90.
