ND has been in contact for a while. His name & ND comes up with MI reports since they offered him over the winter.

Has quietly put a solid offer list together since January. Tennessee offered an hour ago. Vandy offer checks a box most likely.

Del & Tommy has followed for a while.

ISD reporting he will camp next month.

Good friends with Carnell Tate.

On campus today for Corned Beef Cash.

Added Mizzou, Ole Miss, Nebraska & Kansas offers since June.

I read a lot about this guy. Will they offer?

Was wondering why it was so quiet after his BBQ visit.

Will be interesting to finally hear who's where in his recruitment

Kid is fucking built for a sophomore in HS in those highlights. Speed / athleticism is a concern but don't mind this kid as a take as a possession guy. Reminds me of Javon McKinley.

West Virginia also offered recently.

Because of the area my first thought was Micah Jones

Wrong area.

Jones was from the Southside of Kenosha.

Better geographical comparison would be Miles Boykin. Also a better physical comparison.

Most importantly, is his geographical & personal relationship to Carnell Tate.

The basketball talent this school has produced....wow.

I thought it sounded familiar. This was Martez Wilson's school.

Those were the days. Recruiting drama post Willingham Era.

Ben Wilson, the kid who was shot and killed, was from Simeon.

Saw him play in the finals at Assembly Hall. He had transcendent court presence, and was aware, constantly, of the other nine players on the court, like the Big O and Lebron. He was a joy to watch.

HIs shooting and death startled me.

Singer and Driskell have both stated he won't be in the class. They didn't give details. Anybody know the particulars?

So what changed it was stated he wouldn't be in this class?
In my opinion its 2 things.
1. Due diligence/backup plan
2. James is still trying to reclassify to 2022. ND could still take 4 2023 receivers. This would give them 9 total between 2021-2023. A nice job of overturning the WR room

Is it known that James is trying to reclassify or is that just a rumor??

A lot of moving parts at WR recruiting. It might also have to do with the staff viewing Hanafin as more of a defensive athlete. And/or while Greathouse is visiting, optimism might have waned some with the surge from Texas.

IMO it’s a kid from Chicago going to the ND spring game before going to a Indy based camp event. Might just be nothing more at play

I wondered if it was a group thing

"It was unbelievable," Chicago (Ill.) Simeon receiver Malik Elzy said. "The atmosphere, the people there, Coach Stuckey the new receivers coach we connected ASAP. He's a cool laid back coach that's going to keep it real with you. Coach Rees we go way back. I got to chop it up with Coach Freeman for a while. Notre Dame, that set the bar right now. Notre Dame stands pretty high."

Was the WR MVP at Rivals/Indy today.

FREEBIE

he is very fast and his route running skills combined with that speed, help him create a lot of separation from defensive backs. Quarterbacks had easy windows to throw the ball into when looking his direction. Defensive backs that tried to press him at the line of scrimmage were quickly thrown aside because Elzy is just so much stronger than the competition.
