Strange that he's the #1 OT but only 58th overall, hopefully he ends up Irish, but being in Wisconsin probably gives them the inside track no?

According to rivals he has visited Wisonin 3 times this season. So i would say that they are the favorites right now but a loooong time to go.

Who wants to get their hopes up with???

I don't have him on my First Team - Class of Four right now but it would be cool to beat Wiscy in WI for a 4.75* OL just for giggles.

I'm told 247 made it sound like Brunner is a very real thing and he's gonna announce where he's going in the next month.

ND
Wis
OSU

Somehow missed this but I’d say this, he didn’t come off as a guy that has a 9 CB to Wisconsin if that makes sense. Said all the right things for sure. 100% still expect Wisconsin but he had a lot of good to say.

Don’t know if I love that he visited everywhere with Hinzman, has the vibe of let’s have some fun and then commit to Wisconsin when it’s done together

My take all along. I thought their world tour was a race between Quinn and Stud for 2nd.

Interesting comment from Freeman today. I haven't followed the coverage of Brunner's commitment but apparently he said that ND led for a large part of his recruitment but that Wiscy took the lead with his OV.

Told Wisconsin Rivals site ND led for a while too.

Eh. Idk how much I believe that sounded like Wisconsin knew once June came they would put the foot on the accelerator and would have em. ND was more just outworking Wisconsin before probably knowing a surge was coming too.

For reference:

“I think Notre Dame was in the lead for a good chunk of time. I started to build a strong relationship with their coaching staff and I didn't really talk to Wisconsin as much. But then Wisconsin started to pick it up and, trust me, it was hard not being able to get to the campus.”

I hope the staff sees that you have to throw a bigger net earlier in the cycle. ND's the bridesmaid in every market it plays in except Indiana and they've missed a lot of guys there in the past 5 years. You gotta hammer all the leads to find the guys who get it.

Rolling with 3 Wiscy's in your OG plan A's was risky. If Quinn and staff had been on 3x as many '22 guys during the '19 season, maybe things are different right now. I'd love a do over with Jake Taylor where they get on him when we started talking about him here. Not getting on him from the jump was a mistake.

I'm to the point where I'm ready to take to Twitter and ask, "What's up with Kenji Swanson and Lucas Heyer?" I could sign them both in 30 minutes.

Good points, I eluded to this in my disgruntled comments that I think I made?, regarding BK’s reinvention of recruiting after 10 years of coaching at ND. I think they are now getting it.

On the other side of it, we are still recruiting at an elite level on the OL, could be a little negative recruiting swaying some decisions, idk. But it seems to me at this point it’s a good position to be in when kids possibly don’t want to wait their turn. Some are just home bodies I guess.

On to the next one.
