https://www.detroitnews.com/story/s...outhfield-a-t-runs-over-clarkston/2163432001/

Dellinger missed Clarkston’s postseason run last year due to a labrum injury, first having surgery on his left shoulder in November and then on his right a couple of months later. He said earlier this month that he would be ready for the season opener, but told head coach Kurt Richardson this week he wouldn’t be ready to play.

Spindler played well, but with Dellinger sidelined, A&T had its way on both sides of the line.

When asked what the prognosis was on Dellinger, Richardson replied: “I have no clue. He hasn’t been practicing much, then on Tuesday told me that he couldn’t go.

“They kicked our (butt) up front. We couldn’t block them, and we couldn’t stop them either way. We got down inside the 5 twice and didn’t score, and you can’t do that against a team like that. We’ll be alright. We’ll get back to the drawing board and work our (butts) off.”

Is it time to put a line through Dellinger's name? He's not ND material at OT. He was supposed to be a 6-6 OT and now he's just 6-4 with a <strike>tackle build</strike> and a bum shoulder.

Quinn's got his eyes on a handful of 6-7+ OT's to add to Fisher and hopefully Tengwall.

*** Big physical changes happening here. IF they are looking at OG, then maybe they are still in business.

Dellinger has a younger brother, Cole, who is 6'3, 240 lbs freshman who starts at Center who might be a good player down the road but yeah surgery on both shoulders is not good at his age.

this article is from last week and says he is healthy and ready to go. So something is definitely fishy here. Maybe his family are worried about him getting hurt again and held him out..

As I editted above. Big changes happening here. That's 6-6/330 Blake Fisher he's standing next to. Dellinger's put on a lot of weight.

So if he's 6'4", then it looks like Fisher is also 6'4" or they're both 6'6".

Fisher's definitely an inch+ taller than him. Easy for me to see it in that picture.

Garrett Dellinger would be a great add. I'd be real excited about Rocco Spindler too. I'd love for them to offer David Davidkov out of Illinois and Eli Sutton out of Tennessee. Those are two more big big dudes. I think Tommy Brockermeyer is a pipe dream so I'd love to see ND pull 4-5 dudes from this...

.9889 4* Nolan Rucci - PA - 8h45m - 1/26/19
.9817 4* Landon Tengwall - MD - FAR - 3/23/19
.9788 4* Rocco Spindler - MI - 3h15m - 9/29/18 & 10/12/19
.9746 4* Blake Fisher - IN - 2h45m - 1/26/19 & 3/23/19 & 6/15/19 & 10/12/19
.9630 4* Wyatt Milum - WV - 6h30m - 4/9/19
.9520 4* Garrett Dellinger - MI - 3h15m - 9/1/18 & 1/26/19 & 10/12/19
.9360 4* Eli Sutton - TN - 6h45m - 6/15/19 - NOT OFFERED
.9254 4* David Davidkov - IL - 2h - 1/26/19 & 6/15/19 - NOT OFFERED
.9223 4* Greg Crippen - FL - FAR - 6/23/18 & 11/10/18 & 3/21/19 & 6/8/19

I believe 8 out of 9 are over 6'5'' on most of the recruiting services. That's a lot of big dudes and I'd love to see some more pop soon. I'm guessing Dellinger will be next, but it's a total guess!

Would be pretty interesting if the kid almost everyone passed on signed with the defending national champions, lol.

It is interesting cause Anthony Bradford is another kid who was sort of shunned by Midwest schools (Ohio State & Michigan State even offered) and landed at LSU as a 4*. That could’ve been more academics than talent but apparently he’s making a nice name for himself a could be in the two deep as a RS FR. Dellinger seemed like a guy to take to entice Spindler. I think he’s got risk to taking him but you need some guys on the roster who are like that sometimes. Because if he is healthy he has lots of talent from what I’ve heard. I think like a Dirksen, Mabry and Gibbans, with Dellinger you’d have a guy who could develop on his own time and grow past his injuries. Idk. Maybe I’m totally wrong but he seemed worth the take especially if it helps with Spindler.

If Quinn can get Rucci, I don't even care how the next two spots works out after that.

I'll be stoked with Spindler but I don't think the class NEEDS him.

What the Class needs is Fisher, a starting caliber OT with length and two guys who are flexible:

Spindler is an OG/OC. Tengwall's a swing, he might not agree. Coogan's a swing. Caleb Johnson has the length but many think he's an OG. There's a nice group of stretch OT's that ND could go from 0-100 with.

It's all good.

Clarkston Union gonna have to start serving Gumbo for Coach O

Venison Gumbo??? <strike>Yuuuuuuuuuuck</strike> Actually, I bet that would be great together.

If Harbaugh can't keep top talent from Michigan in state, his goose is cooked.

That's a big problem with the Network Recruiting model... Very UNathletic journalism school washouts are responsible for setting a universal value on unproven and undevelped players that the sport's "most knowledgable" fans use to judge a staff's performance or lack there of.

99% of fans out there are going to believe the National Champions came in a signed Dellinger from under the noses of norhtern programs (ie ND/MI/OSU/PSU/WI) that were trying desperately to sign him when that's not the case.

*** I wonder if he's commiting today/this weekend? I just clicked on his 247 profile and it loaded in a way that suggests they were doing maintenance. Spindler's didn't loade that way. I refreshed 3x before it loaded correctly. Maybe that's why Wiltfong and everyone else CB'd him yesterday?

Why did Polian start following him right after the LSU CB's dropped?

Why did Taylor start following him in April?

Did he commit to LSU or am I making that up?

Yeah, you made that up.

He got a bunch of CB's and LSU twitter action on March 19th or so. If ND was passing, why would those two start following him especially in Taylor's case which I'm pretty sure was in the last few weeks?

They maybe put him in that sure thing Michigan basket. LSU interest makes them think otherwise.

Isn't he a teammate of Rocco's? Would've been a nice package deal.

https://irishsportsdaily.com/s/12056/2021-ol-garrett-dellinger-still-looking-forward-to-next-notre-dame-visit/1

https://notredame.rivals.com/news/four-star-garrett-dellinger-still-has-official-visits-scheduled

The staff is still recruiting him. Not sure where on the board he sits, but a few facts I know for sure...

1) He was planning on coming to the big March junior day event at ND. Seems weird to bring in the kid for another visit if he's not a take. Especially having visited many times, they'd just be wasting his time if he wasn't being recruited.

2) He was followed by Kerry Cooks when he came to ND as an analyst right away. He was followed by Polian and Lance Taylor as NDCrusader mentioned fairly recently.

3) He, himself hasn't mentioned anything related to ND not recruiting him and still mentions visiting South Bend when the quarantine is over.

He could be lower on the list and maybe the staff has mentioned he's a backup option, but now I am not so sure as to where he sits on the board and if he's a take and how hard they are recruiting him. Minus the injuries, he does seem to be a big time prospect because the services and many of the major schools in the country ranked him high and offered him. Will be interesting to follow. Seems like a no-brainer for me if him committing to ND includes Rocco Spindler. That would be a really nice package deal.

My guess is that injuries and lack of position flexibility is the reason they backed away at this time. He's very talented but pretty much a RT only IMO.
