With the pandemic still a thing during his recruitment and Portland being Portland and possibly bleeding into the college towns in the future if politics drives further unrest, I know I would NEVER-EVER let my kid go to Oregon from MD. At least at ND, he can jump into a car with teammates or other students which there are plenty from the DMV and get home same day.

I agree. I think he's going to have to take his route running very seriously if he wants to play early. Getting in and out of his breaks for a 6'4 17-18 year old is fine but it will need to improve quite a bit at the next level. But, if he is able to do that, I think he's got 1st-2nd rd draft pick written all over him.
