Pretty well all of those guys are the types that already project to ND (with the exception of maybe Sesay) or have connections to ND and SHOULD be landed when ND is winning and recruiting well. We are talking about landing those couple commitments that don't usually profile to ND, but through recruiting, winning and financial incentive you managed to sway them.

Julius Jones Jr: ND legacy.

Jaxon Dollar: ND landing a top 3 TE in a class given their TE lineage is nothing new.

Layton Von Brandt: ND always lands top 50-100 OL types. ND is OL U.

David Folorunsho: A DT from a Catholic School in Chicago, coached by ND legend Tom Zbikowski. Profiles for ND.

Abraham Sesay: The one kid on your list that I think is a stretch. ND is largely winning because they hired half of Penn State's recruiting department under James Franklin, who he is close to. Good job here.

Aidan O'Neil: A Jersey Catholic School player? ND lands those regularly.

Xavier Hasan: Committed to Mickens, who was the best college CB coach in the country and is going to stick with the class and give ND the benefit of the doubt. Also from an area of North Carolina that ND has been recruiting well for a while.

None of the above guys should be overlooked or dimished, but if ND is really "cookin" on the recruiting trail they're landing the above guys and a couple others that don't generally profile for ND. That's what I'm looking to see. Among the 12 guys I posted, the majority don't make "immediate sense" for ND, but a couple should be able to be landed when ND is winning at a high level and Marcus Freeman is driving the recruiting effort.
Adams and Pouncey are examples of the guys who do not make "immediate sense"

If we end up with a 300 class score, i don't really care how "hard" or "impressive" it is to get there. There's been plenty of "obvious" elite ND guys that we've missed on over the years.

I do, because when contextualized, it represents a small miss in a cycle in which ND was structutally setup to do well and failed to capitalize in some of ways they built last year's class outside of their comfort zone.

In the 2026 class Rodney Dunham, Khary Adams, Ayden Pouncey and Elijah Golden were all examples of guys that were highly coveted nationally, who don't usually profile for ND, that Irish won hotly contested recruiting battles for. If you're "challenging everything" to paraphrase Marcus Freeman, I want to see you build on 2026 by landing a similar number of those types, while simultaneously taking advantage of an excellent year in your traditional recruiting footprint.

I don't have a gripe with your point about a class at 299 on the class calculator, if I look at the group without context. But when I factor in the banner year in ND's recruiting hotbeds, thd momentum the program has built and the large investment in additions to the recruiting department headed up by Marcus Freeman, arguably the nation's best recruiter, I don't think it would be a stretch to ask for a class similar to the one below:

QB: Kamden Lopati
RB: Isaiah Rogers
RB: Lathan Whisenton
WR: Julius Jones Jr
WR: Cade Cooper
WR: Osani Gayles or Xavier Sabb or Julian Caldwell
TE: Jaxon Dollar
TE: Cooper Terwilliger
OL: James Halter
OL: Layton Von Brandt
OL: Richie Flanigan
OL: Cameron Wagner or Luke Starcevic
OL: Oluwasemilore Olubobola or Albert Simien
DE: Abraham Sesay
DE: Mekai Brown
DE: Aiden O'Neil or Ifeanyi Emedobi
DT: David Folorunsho
DT: Brayden Parks
LB: Amri Irvin
LB: Tate Wallace or Roman Igwebuike
LB: Noah Glover or Sean Fox
CB: Xavier Hasan
CB: Ace Alston
CB / S: Tavares Harington
S: Khalil Terry
S: Zayden Gamble
S: Gavin Williams
LS: Sean Craft

For the record, if I plug in the LOWEST rated version of that group I get a score of: 310.12

While I agree I would like to hit on a couple of those elite guys, a class score of 310 would be roughly #5 overall in the last five years combined, just for context. I also dont think that its that far-fetched either.

Also need to remember how we were feeling at this point last year, think we are gonna close we'll come official visits again

Yea. To me Singer’s class is good and better than the BK era. But i am admittedly greedy. 2 or 3 guys could go from good to elite

I know 310 seems a little steep to some, but that was calculated with...

QB: Kamden Lopati
RB: Isaiah Rogers
RB: Lathan Whisenton
WR: Julius Jones Jr
WR: Julian Caldwell
WR: Cade Cooper
TE: Cooper Terwilliger
TE: Jaxon Dollar
OL: Richie Flanigan
OL: James Halter
OL: Cameron Wagner
OL: Layton Von Brandt
OL: Oluwasemilore Olubobola
DE: Abraham Sesay
DE: Mekai Brown
DE: Ifeanyi Emodobi
DT: David Folorunsho
DT: Brayden Parks
LB: Amarri Irvin
LB: Tate Wallace
LB: Sean Fox
CB: Xavier Hasan
CB: Ace Alston
CB: Tavares Harrington
S: Zayden Gamble
S: Khalil Terry
S: Gavin Williams
LS: Sean Kraft

While expectations are hugher than that of Singer, I tried to be hyper realistic in the players I added to the group. It's not as if I added 6-7 elite guys that are a huge stretch for ND to land.

Terwiliger, Olubobola, and Fox are three that we offered late, who have significant momentum with other schools, and who have not visited ND to this point. I would be surprised if we land more than one of those three

Is Grok correct that this is Texas S Karnell James?

Texas 247 said he’s expected to unofficial and official to ND so assume so.

I actually think Dunham fit the ND profile. He had greater than a 4.0 GPA and he was really interested in Duke, which showed that he valued Academics to some degree.

Article is about Monsanna Torbert committed to IU

Odd but then that’s a 2 for 1 special because:

“Karnell James, S, Manvel — Texas commit

The skinny: Kentucky, TCU, Arizona State, Texas A&M, and Notre Dame have all emerged as flip threats since James committed to Texas in December. James has scheduled official visits to Texas (June 19-21) and Notre Dame (June 12-14) and is expected to add TCU and Kentucky to the schedule. As of now, Notre Dame is likely the biggest threat and will receive a spring unofficial visit.”

Multi-sport guy with high academic interest from a good school in North Carolina is very much an ND profile guy.

Adams and Golden were at very academic Catholic high schools.

Pouncey's brother was an ND commit.

I wouldn't say any of those guys were out of the ordinary for ND to land.

Dunham was a 5 star de. Recent success there? No

Adams is a Maryland kid? Our DMV presence sucks

Golden was getting A LOT of money from Oklahoma

Pouncey's brother decomitted from ND and is a Florida kid.

All four of those have ND qualities, but there was some obstacles we overcame
