If Jagusah ever plays again at ND I'm just going to consider that a win at this point. Wishing all the best for him in his recovery, however, I think that as fanbase we should definitely be in a place mentally where we assume he won't play in 2026. If he does, let it be a great surprise.

I guess give me the following to start the season...

LT: Will Black
LG: Anthonie Knapp
C: Ashton Craig OR Joe Otting
RT: Sullivan Absher
RT: Guerby Lambert

The other injuries that I'm most disappointed in from the perspective that I thought they'd have a chance to good depth reps that would catapult them into a position to be key contributors...

Khary Adams: definitely wanted to see him get a look as the #3/#4 CB. Especially in the boundary behind Moore.

Javian Osborne: with Aneyas limited and Kedron still out, I was hoping he'd get an extended look this spring as the #2/#3 RB.

Quincy Porter: completely expected this one as it was always the case that he be at least limited in the spring. Would have loved him and Carr to be able to start building a relationship in the spring though.

What is with all the labrum tears? Are the guys lifting way to heavy? You got 5 guys who have torn labrums? Those surgeries aren't a easy recovery either. Not sure I agree on the depth at DB? We have Gray, Moore, Sanders, plus Golden and Zackery who all played last year.

So you disagree with Freeman. Bold take there.

Some of them are cleanups from high school. A lot of guys come in quietly injured and get things cleaned over the winter under the care of the University medical team. Other guys experience a labrum injury in season, but brace the shoulder and play through it, before cleaning it up in the off season ahead of fall.

Unlikely that Landow just had 3-4 labrum injuries associated with the lifting program.

Wish Porter was healthy for the spring. Need someone in the boundary to develop rapport with CJ ASAP

AND Freeman said we are NOT deep.
How are we not deep? We return All starters, plus had in Sanders, and the transfer from Colorado? Plus Zackary and Golden who played last year plus the Freshman? Make it make sense. We probally have the deepest DB unit in college football.

I guess this is where I bow out. Freeman said it. I guess he doesn't know anything about his team.

Many on the board wanted you back because you are entertaining. IE's Court Jester.

We have lost some depth. I think we are ultra talented in the secondary, of course. However, we did lose a few guy to the portal back there. All because they were passed, but technically it is still depth.

So do we know if these besides Craig, Jagusah, KVA and Kedren are surgeries or just injuries?
  • Williams surgery was to correct issues with the elbow he injured last year.
  • Many of the freshman came in with these injuries from high school i.e. Adams, Clapper, Robinson, etc. that the team doesn't know about until they do their review when they get to campus.
  • Madden's injury was also related to high school that never healed itself and sounds like it's pretty invasive surgery where they're taking bone from your knee and putting it into your wrist. The same applies to Osborne's wrist injury.
  • Bowen was injured during the year last season and had surgery to fix it in January.
  • Kia is a cleanup
  • Porter had his knee fixed just before entering the portal
Hunt also mentioned Greathouse tweaked his hamstring during winter conditioning and Moore tweaked an ankle over spring break, but both are expected to be back soon, but may be limited some during Spring.

This was a press conference heading into spring practice, not heading into the season. MF was talking about spring depth. McKinney won't be here until summer and Moore is likely going to be limited with a sprained ankle. His actual quote was that they weren't "super deep at DB right now, so we have to be able to rotate guys at different positions."

He didn’t say we are not deep he said we are not super deep. So he agrees with you. We are deep.
