Why anyone gives betting odds any credence is baffeling to me. Like the committee is sitting there going hey such and such site says ND has a 90% chance I guess we have to put them in.

I give betting odds a lot of weight when it comes to assessing the likely range of outcomes for a game.

I give them virtually no weight when it comes to determining what a small group of people is going to arbitrarily decide. If anything, given that there is absolutely nothing stopping committee members from placing bets themselves or through close friends, a 20x payout on bets that we would be left out should have been concerning.

I agree with you. Just noticed Stewie couldn’t wait to share that fact. Guess he had to offset the “fun fact” that Pete Sampson shared that was pro-ND. They’re both employed by The Athletic & respect each other but Stewie has to be passive aggressive.
