My wet blanket take is that both Fields and Pauling are productive college receivers but neither was a serious pro prospect. That can work out with guys like Skowronek, etc. but big picture WR is a 3-year issue now in terms of having “difference makers” and I’m skeptical that we have a great plan here to fix that. I have similar skepticism about interior DL where we are trying to plug and play in the portal.

(To be fair, I think Fields could be the most productive WRs we have had since Kevin Austin, so I’m not hating on the addition just saying overall it’s where we’re lacking relative to some other peer schools)
I feel Fields can be a number 1 WR in our current offense. But if we want to take the next step as an O, we need a dude dude.

If ND goes portal shopping for a QB go all in on Klubnik only.

If Angeli getting sacked next year would be a problem to some you need to look at the o-line who we are losing- no one and gaining back- Jagusah.

Leonard got better as the season went on, but if our defense wasn't elite do we lose more games?

I am happy with Fields & Pauling at WR, but I want to see what Williams & Gilbert can do.

200 yds better than the current #1 and #2 doesn't move the needle?

AND they aren't done...

Oh, you meant they aren't the second coming of Tate & Floyd. Got it.
You aren’t gonna have a 1,000 yard WR on any roster next year regardless who your WR is. Not with Love on the roster they’ll be a run heavy team again

I think next years offense is gonna be run heavy again they’ll spread everything out to keep guys freshman I think when the games in the line you’ll see the ball in the hands of Love and Williams next year.

I think Fields is significantly better than Pauling. I think Fields could be closer to 1,000 than 500 yards whereas Pauling will be closer to 200 than 500.

Unless Pauling in the fastest on the team we already have his style receiver.

Fields we have others but not much experience.

We need a WR coach that can do something. That is the weakest link on the coaching staff

I doubt Pauling Starts but he will play the Kris Mitchell role next year he will have 300-400 yards gonna be a good 3rd down WR

Justice Haynes to Michigan, they like running the ball...but not sure I love it.
Did Michigan sign a transfer QB?
With all that money... They can't be going into next year with only a true freshman.
Makes me wonder if more QB names are going to drop.

Sounds like he is finishing his Jr year. Does this now mean we can take UG transfers for depth pieces or is he graduating early?

Were also getting TE Ty Washington from Arkansas, he was dismissed from their team in October. Had a 42.4 rating on PFF😶😶

I see this as good news. Was concerned we could lose Raridon but would assume they've confirmed he's coming back if they're taking more of a depth player there.

It's a trend, this coach should be replaced next year. Motto must be "if it's broke, why try to fix it"
