As it stands though, who is going to be the WRs for Klubnik (Hypothetical)?? I get we have talent coming in but they are somewhat unproven so far.
I look at it this way. The two big bodies in the middle can only do so much. Outside of Suh when he was at Nebraska, I can’t remember the last time a dt has truly taken over a game let alone a whole season. The modern era favors offense so I would rather take a stud who will have the ball in his hands.
The correct answer though is take them all.

I hear you.

I guess I’d say I’m not seeing Klubnik as being anywhere near the level of say a Lawerence or Burrow (both of whom were throwing to some pretty good receivers) or a Cam Newton who could just take over a game.
Either way - at some point - ND needs to develop the QBs recruited or start them or it will be a 'Portal Recruitment' year-by-year.

Those are generational talents. I’m looking at based on best options allegedly available.

I can agree with this on all positions needed.

I fully agree, as long as CJ is 100%. If that’s the case, then dt it is. But the fact that stories keep popping up about ND looking for a qb tells me enough.

I remember when Frosh couldn't play their first year in college football. Some here may not know that... with that being said, it would cut down on a lot of NIL/Transfer and injuries.

Maybe that rule should be reinstated - fuck the red-shirt rule. G-d knows teams in the SEC with their 'Grey Shirt' rules have really put that conference in position to have kids playing 5-6 years of eligibility ......

I’ll trust the staff until they show me good reasons not to. I know it’s not the best case scenario for the recruiting junkies but just win and I don’t need to question how the steak is cooked in the kitchen.

Travis Shaw from UNC has been pretty silent from what I can find. Could be a possible DT option

Cam Newton had a top 10 pick at DT to help him take it over

If that number is true, I wonder if that is the narrowest AAV between HC and QB in the sport?

Manny Diaz can’t make that much more than $4 million.
Funny enough he's right there at $4 or $4.1 million

Louisville DT Jared Dawson could be a name as depth.

Not sure why 247 hasn’t rated him. Has been rotational for 3 years

Chad is following him as well so could be a possibility I think if the staff is smart they grab 1 starter two depth guys

Give me the DTs

A Riley Leonard level QB might lead us to the promising land this year and not sure I'd put him in the elite level.

I agree ,but until the Rees kids are gone and replaced this is what we got to do to compete for it all. Rees left the qb room in shambles.

when the room is Carr, Hebert, Grubbs and ? We won’t have to scramble every year like this.

Angeli was never going to be the guy. He’s still important because he is an experienced backup which you need. But the writing is on the wall. The staff does not believe he is good enough on a week to week basis. Once there is film on him and his limitations are exploited he will not be enough.

If Carr’s camp is in board with taking an elite transfer then you gotta do it. He is the only qb on the roster that is a tier 1 kind of talent.

I think he good but not good enough to win a title I’m jsut afraid he’s gonna get sacked 35 times

He also has missed enough throws in games to show he doesn’t have the extraordinary accuracy needed to be a statuesque qb that can pick apart a defense with his arm.

I think we need 3 DTs now. 2 if we can steal on before signing day. I think depth issues have shown a very large issue that comes with under recruiting the position lately. We have settled too much with signing big frame guys who can eventually become tackles in the future and because of that we lack the depth now.
