It's interesting how sometimes the standpoint players list can vary from reporter-to-reporter. Sometimes it seems like there's 20 different names over all of them. So the fact that the same guys are showing up on multiple lists is very exciting!

For me it tells me that ND has a few guys who are going to emerge in the fall, namely Young, Onye, Mukam, Tae Johnson and we'll likely see the most consistent and dynamic version of Jaylen Sneed we've seen ever.

It also told us pretty much what we knew already at QB. Angeli is the steady guy, while Carr and Minchey have higher peaks but lower valleys.

I've been a big Mukam believer, and if he pans out, it will only make me more entrenched in my opinions. So sorry in advance to anyone who might disagree with me on here in the future.

With portal players, returnees, and the developing youngsters, the DL from end to end will likely be a significant upgrade from last year. Looking forward to it!

Tough to evaluate the DL when our OL 1s are barely 2s, but I think for 60 snaps the DL will be better than last year by a good bit potentially

There is a very strong possibility that this defense is next level good. As excited as I was for last year's, if the DTs are solid and the ends stay healthy, this should clear it by a good margin and it was probably the second best defense in the country.

If they can get a safety to play 80% as well as X and the DTs play at a banged up level Cross, we will be fine. The DL depth will be much better

Yep. It'll be hard to replace the experience and smarts we had up the middle with Cross/Mills, Kiser, Watts. But the overall level of talent should be higher. If the game skills follow, watch out.

Anyone who’s got Twitter can read Driskell article but to summarize Angeli had a rough day and was the worst of the 3 QB’s. Minchey made some nice plays but also made mistakes. Carr had 3 of the 5 most impressive throws and was most consistent

Some have mentioned that Angeli's mobility or lack thereof is going to be an issue with the offense. I agree with this take. Yes, our oline will be great but having a qb who gets sacked a lot and handles pressure poorly will not work and minimize a lot of potential plays. Minchey and Carr move far better, especially Minchey. Quite eager to see how all 3 look in 1 week.

Seems prophet Mercke has changed his tune from Carr very likely, won’t be close starting barring injury, shattering every ND record to no clear leader and “Angeli is playing well enough to make himself the now”

Raridon’s ceiling is still so high. Probaby one of the most “underrated” the TE position at ND has been entering a season in 20 years.

Sneed off the edge flash just to get everyone’s juices flowing
A shame Rairdon has only 1 year left

We all freaked out about Jagusah getting hurt last season and Knapp stepped up. Sucks to hear about Lambert, if not this season for him; next season will be his time.

Is Merck still here?

Driskell constantly rags in Angeli and praises Carr as the next Joe Montana. “It just leaves his hand differently,” “it spins differently.”

As a self-proclaimed “QB guru,” it’ll be really telling if Angeli gets the nod as QB1. If that happens, I don’t see how you anyone can trust Irish Breakdown’s “analysis.”

So Driskell is Mercke? Now this all makes sense

Where are you seeing this? I checked 247 but couldn't find these comments. Is he active on another ND board?

Link is below. Unlike some people, you can probably appreciate nuance. The exact quote is that he still maintains that Carr is the future but Angeli is playing well enough to make him the now. Meaning, Carr has the most long term talent but a 4th year player in Angeli is doing very well to keep himself in the conversation. Also praises Carr's arm talent. Poster had a bone to grind for whatever reason and can't let people be.
