ha, fuck UConn

Geno is such an entitled asshole.

yeah, he is a pig

love seeing UCONN lose. I did not expect it; or at least thought it would be a tight game but SC just put them down and worked them the second half. Very steady dismantling job.

Deniya Prawl is in the transfer portal from Tennessee. I believe her finalists were ND and Tenn with Tenn closing late. Will be interesting to see if we kick the tires here.

Tennessee's program about half fell apart, both staff and players. The #2-in-Nation recruit (the incoming dunker) has requested a voiding of her signing for example. As to the mentioned player (Prawl): lousy stats and some injury last season, but came in as an McDonald's AA --- so who knows?

I don't know if I'd put her stats at Tennessee as a reason not to get her. The coach there is famously known for wanting to play at least 10 deep. She probably did not get adequate playing time.

-Looking her stats over, they are pretty pathetic. And she is not a big anyway.

She fits the mold of a Cass Prosper prospect. And again, I don't take her stats seriously at Tennessee. I'd imagine we at least make contact.

dug around to see what else I could find on her and its not much. Honestly, I really do not see much there for us to want.

Probably a low draft choice or undrafted. Too inconsistent on offense, sometimes a force, sometimes pretty bad. I'd expect her to transition to Europe if she doesn't make the WNBA. Could come back to ND but does it really make sense for either side. Those recruits have to play or they are gone, that's just the way it is these days.

Uh ... a big one. This is a proven all conference defensive player,
and a proven all-conference second team, period.

And ... a player who rises significantly every year.

Now ... I found the goodbye message "odd." Way too self-oriented. (She is basically saluting herself).
Possibly just poorly crafted, but with a feel that ND had come to offer her less in terms of a "joy" environment than she needed to come back. (I don't know enough to suss that out, but that's the feel of it for me.)

She came to ND as an early enrollee with the plan to leave after 3 1/2 years. She started this year with the plan of this being her last season. She and Niele made statements throughout the year indicating that this was going to be her last year. The only thing that has changed is that the team finished well and maybe that would encourage her to come back and develop for another year while they tried to "finish the job." She has never given any indication that she was leaning to coming back or actually giving it substantial thought. Some of us were hopeful she would change her mind, but there was never any smoke to suggest a fire from anyone who would have any knowledge of anything.

I agree that the post seemed odd. A letter addressed to oneself may always come off solipsistic. I imagine that she felt it was a creative idea and just ran with it without thinking about the tone.

one one hand the message was clearly quite self centered
but on the other hand it was probably very honest

That's a new one on me. Never have seen or heard that word before. You must be a whiz with the NYT crossword!

Addy Brown from Iowa State potentially visiting today/this weekend. Madison St. Rose from Princeton potentially visiting next week. Those would be two great additions.

Oklahoma seems to have the inside track on Brown
Madison is only five foot ten and quick but there is a reason she was at Princeton

Both of those players would be extremely helpful. The Princeton guard is being forced by Ivy League rules to transfer, and she would be a nice replacement for Vanessa de Jesus to take ball-handling loads off Hannah. Brown is a big time double double waiting to happen. Playing with Crooks doubtless depressed her number of touches in shooting position. I don't know why the entire ISU team destructed, but hopefully we get in on the spoils.

Cass got picked 19th in the draft. It showed me that the professionals running WNBA teams were watching and knew basketball. The TV commentators (as usual) went about disrespecting Notre Dame and never mentioned her and "surprise" there she went. Who knows what Cass will do, but she had that rare get-after-it motor that any coach treasures. Whoever says that she's easy to replace ... well ... no comment.
