Thanks. We couldn't get a single 2024 uncommitted? Very disappointing. No Nelson? No mystery DL? No true surprises?
I’m way more concerned about the lack of elite 2025 talent. Sure, there is a long way to go, but there are only 1 or 2 Top 50 dudes on that list. I just keep waiting for recruiting to turn the corner and it just keeps not turning.

Both went to power five teams and actually believe they were good enough to win the starting job. I would have a hard time believing Angeli thinks he has a shot at a power five starting job. He is a good backup for most teams
Not meaning this as an attack at you, but I wouldn’t want a QB on my team if they never had a shot at being a starter and were cool with that because they know they aren’t good enough.

*I* don’t think Angeli is a Power 5 QB, but the problem is if he agrees with me. You don’t even want that on the bench at Notre Dame.

Please help me understand the need for another QB as it relates to recruiting. Is Carr for 24 and Knight for 25 not enough? You want to double up in one of those years?

If you’re talking about a transfer then please differentiate in your post. That’s not recruiting which is what is being discussed. You even alluded to it in the opening statement of your post.

Good lord we have some negative Nancy’s on this board.

Yes. You should have 4 scholarship QB. 3 real options. And then a lower 3 star. Not going to be great but might be just good enough to get the job done. We all know the QB position
Is extremely important and we don’t need to worry if one Qb gets hurt then you are down to a starter and and back with minimal experience.

I know they might be harder to do in this transfer era.

Not trying to be negative just trying to show the importance of have the players at QB.

Have you seen the QB play at Pitt, Boston College, etc. Steve could most definitely be a starting QB on those teams. With that said, I'd roll with Minchey or Carr over Angeli if a transfer is not part of the conversation.

Kinda like the 2024 class. I believe we only have 9 recruits in the too 247. We need more than that.

I disagree. QB is the most important position in the game. I think we should recruit the best QB we can get each and every year. The reason is because we don’t know who will work out. So many just don’t have the intangibles to pan out. When the physical abilities are similar; it’s the intangibles that will allow the best QB to separate himself from the rest. And when the next man in has “it,” then it makes winning at a high level much more likely to continue. That’s why I like that they went after Knight after getting Carr, instead of going after an Angelli type.

Will we have transfers? Of course. That’s when we go to the portal and get the grad student from Fordham who wants the MBA and is ok with being 3rd or 4th string.

According to this sent out 11am Est, no 2024 vistors who aren't committed to ND. Very disappointing

Seems like an admission that they lost all momentum for the season and the opportunity for the biggest recruiting weekend of the year.

How is it disappointing? The class is pretty much full. They are working on flipping Nelson, which he can still decide to visit later on - there are two more home games.

They are going after an DL, and there may a player or two showing up “unannounced”

Because we should be going big game hunting, you're never "full" for talent. We have a top recruiting HC (it's all he's good at), top recruting coordinator, and the last meaningful game of the year and we can't attract anyone? There aren't even other great games besides the Or/Wa one.

People need to have higher standards at ND instead of losing ground in every facet and then in the weeks that follow rationalizing into apathy.

This used to be a big time program and a big time game.

There are not many top uncommitted players. ND will never be a player for some of those dudes, so consider some optimism that they are still going hard after one of the Top TEs in the nation.

Get a player committed elsewhere. Other teams do it every week. I'm disappointed but I'll shut up.

Not how recruiting works anymore. Big games like this are always for the next year recruits. So many are committed now. And if they aren't they are probably playing the NIL game

Fwiw, loy was on the II pregame show. He had to leave to see if a certain recruit made it. Then omalley and prister joked about the recruit not to be named
