I would love to see the NIL Pitch from the FUND vs. LSU or UGA or any SEC School.

I could see ND's start with two pages of Limiting Conditions or Attorney Speak.

ND: "We will attempt our best to have you work with a dedicated Notre Dame sponsor to supplement your scholarship. We believe that once you have made it to campus the FUND will work in a collaborative process to garner you a competitive NIL packages. We will, only after you are on campus, interview you for your strengths and weaknesses and pair you with a suitable NIL sponsor. Some of our players have made upwards of over $100,000 while doing it an ethical and trusting manner."

LSU's: "$50,000 paid after 6th game and $50,000 after Bowl Game and $100,000 after completion of each subsequent season. Sign Here:_________"

It's why he left for LSU in the first place.
BK’s roster management was not good/mediocre while he was at ND. Guy was a total dumb ass who couldn’t get out of his own way on that front.

So far he’s produced basically the same results at LSU as he did at ND with way more “talent”.

For someone who’s a ND “fan” you seem to really hate Norte Dame as an institution. It’s kind of weird honestly.

Just spent (wasted) time doing the 247 Class Calculator for each of the current top 10 teams in the rankings.

IF every team in the top 10 gets everyone in the top 300 who 247 has them leading for (50% or higher), and we keep Bowen, the rankings will look like this (these do not include any projections of the 3-4 guys in the top 100 or so who did not have a clear leader):

1. Bama (315.68)
2. Georgia (305.91)
3. Texas (299.82)
4. OSU (297.35)
5. LSU (296.03)
6. Miami (295.03)
7. ND (289.23)
8. OU (286.66)
9. Tenn (276.33)
10. Clem (275.55)

If Bowen flips to OU, then they'd jump us to #7 at 294.03, and ND would fall to #8 at 282.42 (which would rank ahead of all of BK's classes except for 2013 (284.77).
Not good enough when you hire a coach strictly for his recruiting prowess.

Stop. They didn’t hire him strictly for his recruiting
Why else would they have hired him? He had zero HC experience. He could've gotten the UVA or Duke job, but he wasn't qualified for the ND job outside of the potential for recruiting.

Because he has been a really good- great defensive coordinator? You can’t really believe his recruiting was the reason they hired him.

He was one of the best defensive coordinators in the business for like 3-4 years running first at Cincinnati then at SB. That ain’t nothing.

“My country, right or wrong,” is a thing that no patriot would think of saying except in a desperate case. It is like saying, “My mother, drunk or sober.”

I think the wise words of this Catholic apologist apply to talk re: notre dame as well. Surely why some including myself criticize the institution so fiercely is due to the amount of love we have for it.

Freeman was 100% the right higher you think Duke would hired a coach too take over for coach K when he left they went with Scheyer who had zero coaching experience anywhere

He was a long time Asst under K. And Football is way, way, way harder to coach at that College level than Basketball.

Ok sure. But pissing and moaning constantly about the institutional limitations ND places on the football program and pointing to BK as exhibit A when he’s producing the same results at a football factory seems kind of stupid.

Anyhow, at the end of the day these are supposed to be institutes of higher learning that provide access to said educational opportunities vis a vis athletics not semi pro training facilities for the NFL. That entire idea seems to have been lost in this entire discussion which is unfortunate.

You are really troubled a lot. I give praise and criticism when warranted.

8-4 is totally unacceptable for this program. Go cry me a River bro.

Is this class falling apart right at the finish line?
It COULD, nothing is set in stone yet. This is the first year of Wild West NIL, anyone who tells you they know how this is going to go is making shit up.

Mike Frank is always doom and gloom, but I think he was on to something that wide open NIL + transfer portal means is that schools are going to over recruit and process kids more than ever. The pro treatment goes both ways. Will be interesting to see what happens around NSD, and if/how many kids push their recruitments well past it.

I saw 88 use their instead of they're. Du Lac, or Bogs for those of us who have been around longer, would have jumped all over someone's ass for using poor grammar. Or maybe he's doing it on purpose to throw us off.
Wait.... Dulaq was Bogtrotter?! That's a mindfuck.

The original grammar policeman was DShans.
