LAST WEEK OF THE REGULAR SEASON.
College football, you leave us too soon. We wait for months for your return, and then you are gone in what feels like a moment.
So let us enjoy cheering for the Irish one last time for the regular season, and then see where they end up during bowl season (likely the Gator Bowl against an SEC squad, or the Holiday Bowl against a PAC12 squad).
We can also enjoy quite a few other matchups this week/weekend, hoping and watching for chaos between tonight, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Saturday. It's rivalry week, so maybe things will get entertainingly weird.
Who knows... if enough teams in the teens and lower half of the top-10 are victims of upsets, perhaps ND can still sneak in the NY6? Tonight's CFP rankings will give us a better idea in that regard, so make sure to keep an eye on them during high-stakes #MACtion.
TUESDAY, NOV. 22
- Chuck Martin's guys host Ball State in a battle for end-of-season pride. This is commercial fodder for the main event...
- HIGH STAKES #MACTION. Bowling Green. Ohio. Winner hosts the #MACtion championship next Saturday. We are blessed with Tuesday nights in the MAC.
THURSDAY, NOV. 24 - TURKEY DAY
FRIDAY, NOV. 25 - EARLY
- Go Bearcats. The winner hosts the AAC championship. The loser is dropped into what is potentially a three-way tie for the other spot. Scenarios are crazy.
- Baylor *almost* spoiled the whole damn thing for TCU last week. They can console themselves by spoiling Texas' chances at a spot in the Big 12 'chip.
- Toledo has already locked up their spot in the MAC 'chip. It will be interesting to see how they handle this game personnel-wise.
FRIDAY, NOV. 25 - AFTERNOON
- North Carolina rivalry week... but UNC is already locked into a date with Clemson for the ACC 'chip. I expect a full effort here based on their hopes for a NY6 bowl, though.
- Bonus "SEC on CBS" this weekend!
- Iowa is suddenly trying to play offense, rather than just punting every fourth play. Bold strategy. It should pay off against overmatched Nebraska.
- UCLA is eliminated from the Pac12 championship race, so enjoy watching 34-year-old DTR in what could be his final game in a UCLA uniform.
FRIDAY, NOV. 25 - LATE
- Florida started the season with a great win over Utah, and has been on a roller-coaster ever since. Go Noles?
- Can we get one last late-night fog alert during a Fresno game???
