Day has had a solid season for sure, but I cant make an arguement for him over some of those guys. Day will have a chance to shine down the stretch against some fantastic offenses

For Day's sake, I wish "offensive holding penalties drawn and subsequently ignored by the referees" was a trackable statistic.

The midseason "selections" are rolling in --

I haven't seen all these guys, but no Sheldon Day is a joke.

SI's College Football 2014 Midseason All-America Team - College Football - SI.com

Koyack and Jaylon, First and Second Teams, respectively.

Other teams:

Dak Prescott, Nick O'Leary among 2014 midseason All-Americans - ESPN
Smith only 2nd team is an insult. I would also say Fuller/Koyak/Day have a shot at 2nd team.

I would take Dak over Mariotta. Also, if BVG had the decision, would any of those LB's play over Jaylon..?

Smith as a 2nd team guy is a joke. Clearly a 1st team guy. But I could see Koyak/Day and even Fuller as 2nd team potential.

Jaylon as a 2nd team guy is a scam. A clear 1st team LB, and I believe he has the ability to, if he was able to, play in the NFL right now and be successful and effective. That being said, I also could see Koyak/Day and even Fuller as potential 2nd team guys. Numbers speak for themselves..

Geez, is this true. I was at the game Saturday and watched Day a lot; he really gets held a lot, and I know "there is holding on every play" -- But I mean blockers have their arms stretched out around him much of the time.

You know who I think will be in the AA mix next year, or at least by senior year? Max Redfield. He's really athletic, loves to hit and has a nose for the ball. Just needs to figure it all out.

Yeah, I was a little surprised no one mentioned Fuller. As good as he's been, he has had a number of drops. Maybe that's it.

He's only a sophomore. I truly believe if he stays all 4 years he will be a 1st team AA by his senior year. I think Jaylon will be next year if he doesn't make the cut this year. Same with Max. All are superb athletes and some of the guys ahead of them could be upperclassmen that are just performing a little better and are not just superb athletes but also know what they are doing on every play because they have had more time. It's hard for a freshman or sophomore to get AA honors because of the stuff they do not know, yet, even if they are great players.

Updated College Football All-American Team Projections for Post Week 8 | Bleacher Report

Bleacher Report's Projections for First Team, at this point, for what it's worth.

Summary: No Irish, three Seminoles, including TE Nick O'Leary, fresh off his 3 catches for 13 yards sunspot showing on Saturday. Also, included are the FSU guard, Tre Jackson, who got flagged for a personal foul Saturday, and the kicker, who was, I thought, pretty good.
