Bit presumptuous to assume you speak for all of us Mack.

Most of the ND fans on here seem to displeased with the people who are against the big videoboards and FieldTurf.

ohio came out in the second half and just took it to denver. They took at 2 goal lead, 10-8, with under :05 left in the 3rd. They maintained that practically the entire 4th quarter.


They must have had possession for about 75% of the 4th quarter. They just kept passing the ball back and forth behind denver's cage. The announcers were complaining about how there should be a shot clock and denver's coach said "This is what people have been complaining about" in the postgame interview when asked about ohio hanging onto the ball.

This was denver's first game, maybe it was just rust.

Oh yeah that's right the Moe's Sunshine Classic or something like that... right? Thanks for the recap... they didn't even have a live blog running on IL. It's seriously shocking to me that this happened to Denver played Team USA square even in a scrimmage a couple weeks ago. The fatal flaw in that team, as I've said before, is that their close defenders SUCK and are brand new. When you don't have takeaway defenders it becomes near impossible to get the ball back when a team chooses to stall.

I'm not surprised Tierney was super pissed. The truth is the stall warning doesn't work anymore to prevent teams from playing dirty. Maryland used similar tactics to beat Syracuse last year in the playoffs and it pissed off a LOT of people. The best suggestion I've heard is to replace the stall warning with with a 20 second shot clock. That is, if a ref gives a stall warning the team has 20 seconds to put a shot on cage instead of the current "keep it in."

I'm scared for next weekend. denver's next opponent: Michigan. They're gonna be pissed. Hopefully Michigan can make it a game for awhile like this past Saturday.

Yeah, unless you guys can win some faceoffs that could get ugly pretty fast. They are going to be out for blood. Don't be surprised if they put up 20.

Arlotta stadium opened 2 years ago. Still the barred none best lacrosse-only stadium in the country. It's really a work of art. When Hopkins finished building their new facility though it will give it a run for its money, though.

The inside of the facility (lounge, meeting rooms, etc.) are all even nicer than the field too.

Michigan is near presenting the plans to the regents for approval for Michigan Indoor Stadium, from what I'm told.

It's an indoor stadium, field turf, seating isn't confirmed yet but I've been told it will seat 6,000 at the minimum with 9,000 at the most. Two separate fieldhouses connected to MiS which one will be a practice facility for the Mens team, and the other will be a practice facility for the Womens team which will be competing at the NCAA level in spring 2014. The mens team will play a traditional "Battle in The Big House" game every year that follows the football spring game. Also if Michigan ever hosts an NCAA Regional, it will be played at Michigan Stadium.


6,000 or more seating capacity shocks me as that is more than Yost Ice Arena holds but I realize that this is the fastest growing sport in the United States. Dave Brandon sees that and I think this stadium is almost made to provide for the future. It seems a lot like Fielding Yost who wanted a 150,000 seat football stadium and people thought he was insane.

I really do like ND's facility though. I'm definitely going when Michigan plays there someday.

jacksonville just got done smoking navy on NBC Sports in the game 2 of the doubleheader. Things seem to coming along nicely for a relatively new program in the Division 1 lacrosse.

I'm very worried. Not only what you mentioned but won't the altitude where they are playing have a factor on the guys who aren't used to it? Now that I think about it though, Michigan has played in Colorado many, many times as a club team whether it be at CU, CSU or in the MCLA Tournament which is held there.

Good thing it won't be televised. Michigan gets air force the following day at 9am EST. I think that one might be a decently competitive game.

It's a huge factor, speaking with firsthand knowledge. Midfielders run out of gas much faster than usual and depth plays a serious factor. If you don't have two solid lines that you can play 50/50 + 2 LSMs + d-mids, you end up being in a world of pain come 4th quarter.

IMO, that is too big. Arlotta holds ~2000 and then we usually get another 1-2k in spillover seating for big games. Then we also have our indoor field at Loftus which doesn't hold very many people at all... but we only use that for seriously cold/inclement weather.

Michigan has way more students than ND so you probably need a bigger stadium and the 4k-6k range doesn't sound too big... 9k seems pretty excessive though. Playing in a big stadium is really pointless if the stands aren't filled (ask Maryland fans about the disaster that is playing in Byrd Stadium).

The "Battle in the Big House" thing is cool because I've been to Ohio State when they put our game before their spring game and it set an attendance record. It was a great atmosphere and a lot of fun... plus we beat the hell out of OSU. Like really, really dismantled them.

I wish I knew what the exact capacity will be then I could elaborate on it. I do know that the roof is going to be a lot lower than a normal fieldhouse/indoor stadium so that the noise level can be off the charts in there if/when it's full. The grandstands will also be positioned so the players will feel like the fans are right on top of them practically.

I'm sure that Michigan will be team featured in ohio's "Showdown at the Shoe" next year. If you were at that game when ND played there, what were the ohio fan's reactions like when they were getting killed or saw that you had ND apparel on?

I'm certain that Michigan will play ND in The Big House someday.

Well, I was with the team so I don't know what the "fan" experience was like. I did have a couple friends who made the trip though and they said it was an odd combination of:
1. Drunk fat Ohioans who didn't understand/care about lacrosse and were actually pretty nice people. They'd ask questions about the sport and such and were relatively fun to watch the game with.
2. Ohio State fans that were delusional about how good their lacrosse team was and talked TONS of smack and were total a-holes leading up to the game and into the first quarter. When we blew the game open in the 2nd, they shut up and took their medicine... but they were supposedly unbearable before that.

I'd imagine that wearing Michigan colors would be the latter x10... I'd suggest going incognito if you attend or attending en masse with a bunch of other Michigan fans so you have backup.

Oh yeah I've had a pretty bad experience in 2000 where I had to get physically involved with some idiot who took his drunken anger of his awful team losing again to Michigan by shoving my 16 year old niece. Took care of him in one shot to the face. Haven't been back since. I've talked about this experience a few times on here.

I can only imagine what going to the game next year will be like with about 2% of the crowd Michigan fans and 98% ohio fans.

Also... correcting an earlier post it was Jeff Tundo who transferred from Ohio State not Logan Schuss... so they still have a bit of offensive firepower even if they lost their super-athlete Tundo. That's going to be an interesting game in a couple weeks.
