If there's one thing you guys need, it's a screen for replays on the scoreboards. I can't believe that a big time school like ND has no video screens, while Michigan just approved the $20 Million plan for new HD Video Boards at The Big House this season.

Exactly. I like no names on the jerseys and the grass field (to a degree..) but it is nonsensical to avoid jumbotrons in favor of "tradition." That is just my opinion, and I know many people disagree, but it's something I'd like to see so I can tell whether a play was a TD without having to text back home from the stadium and ask people what they saw on TV.

I think the new jumbo/scoreboard at the Joyce is pretty sweet. Obviously ND is up to pumping in $$$ to the facilities. I think with what the scUM is doing, ND will take notice and update in the near future.

They are not Division 1A.

Boise has blue because of the grandfather clause.

All colors other than green are illegal under NCAA Guidelines. Now please leave the bridge and return to your Michigan site.

Did I say that they were D1-FBS?

And also another thing. If ND gets turf would you guys be in favor or against having colored/name in the endzones or a midfield logo?

I would add to make it 100,000. I would not mind to see a logo of some sort to the field or end zone, it is a little to plain. Perhaps a shamrock or the mascot on the 50.

As **** Allen once said, "If a horse won't eat it, I don't want to play on it." What's next, a dome to get away from South Bend's weather? Stick with the grass.

Interesting. To the people who have visited and went to ND. In your opinion, could the surrounding facilities, hotels, restaurants, and bars of South Bend support say another fifteen thousand fans?

yes every town around southbend, mishawaka, elkhart had extra hotels with rooms... i stayed in a nice one 1 mile from stadium then stayed in elkhart which had a bunch of small hotels.. and trust me to town would love the extra money.. so nice also i'm planning to return next yr best trip and like i've heard words can't describe i wish i could move to southbend..

turf keep it real, maybe add mascot/ND to 25 yr lines and leave endzone alone.. i loved the stadium both sides were cool loved the touchdown jesus, golden dome, basillica popping out.. Alabama has 110,000 Michigan has 110,00 ND needs 100,00..

^if anything it would help business in the Michiana area, by increasing demand the need for more hotels, restaurants and such would help a local economy based around the University.

Hasn't the problem always been, can the campus itself hold another 20-30,000 people?

The campus is pretty small and I'm sure they'd have to make some more room for parking. Probably have to create a large parking lot somewhere in the surrounding area and have a shuttle service, for example.

The shuttle service from the CFB Hall of Fame works well.

Parking would not be an issue, there is space on campus, downtown, as well as in the neighborhoods and at St Mary's, with our St Mary's booster pass we get to park in a prime spot right across from campus. (SMC is almost an extension of ND)

eddy street commons 2 story parking garage.. when i went they still had plenty of room in the joyce lot and around town.. park in driveways 2/3/7 miles away.. build it and they will come.. it would be packed hard with 10/20,000 more ppl but that would look so good..

If they expanded they stadium by 10-20,000 it would make it a bit easier to get tickets! Especially to those alumni who instead of donating lots of money to ND are instead paying for their children's tuition.

I totally agree with the "Build it and they will come." Campus on gameday would be even more electric.

Gold everything for the Golden Domers

Gold everything for the Golden Domers

I am sure that if they thought about expanding the stadium they could do it, but I can't see how they can do it without taking down the press box. If they leave the press box you will end end with the same problem the Yankees have in their new stadium with obstructed views. I would like to see them build the scoreboards back into the stadium like they used to be, with all the brick around them. As for the Jumbotron, why put only one into the stadium in 1 endzone, that doesn't make sense. Why not put 2 into the stadium one in the corner above the student section and the other in the opposite corner by the JACC.

I think adding the field turf would be good since almost every other place has it or is installing it, and the practice facility already has it. I like the ideas that people re coming up with for adding stuff to the field. I like the "tradition" of both end zones with slash lines in it. My suggestion is to keep the field almost exactly like it is, if they install the field turf. I say to only do the outlines of the numbers in gold, not yellow, but gold like the Dome. I would also like to see the lines in the end zone changed to gold lines, and to build off of what someone else said on here "a shamrock would be cool at the 50 yard line" I think if they put a shamrock at the 50 outlined in gold only and the interlocking ND inside it also in gold. For the people who are saying put Notre Dame or Fighting Irish or both in the endzones I would only do it with gold outlines of the letters.

Hopefully I didn't **** anyone off on my first post on this site.

IMO, the only thing that should ever even be considered to change would be the size/capacity of the stadium. And of course, it would have to keep the same style. Its the house that Rock built and (in appearance) it should stay that way.

The house that Ruth built isn't even around anymore and the old stadium was changed twice before it was demolished. I am just saying my idea had the least amount of changes without going overboard. I am all for tradition being a Yankee fan and Notre Dame fan 2 of the most tradition inspired teams, I just thinkthere can be changes, I just hope they aren't that crazy.

100,000 people and a jumbo tron could do alot by making the stadium louder.
20,000 extra people would make up for all the old fans that don't make noise!
I love tradition, but a big part of ND tradition is beating the crap out of teams at home.
It needs to get louder.
