Kelly and his coaches have a different philosophy than the previous regime when offering prospects; they are definitely casting a wider net with more offers. I know they are starting to use Skype, like most schools, to call prospects. Makes sense to build relationships with these players, so they are not scrambling at signing day.

I use it to show off the kids to relatives across the country. This is the first I've heard of it being used as a recruiting tool, but it makes sense to get recruits and families familiar with your face.

Best part of Skype - it's free. When my daughter had to work for a month overseas, we could talk to her for as long as we wanted and it cost nothing.

Schools had started to use Skype...more of a personal phone call because you can see the other person. You can buy the web cam for $40. Head coaches use it to offer scholarships and it counts as a phone call for recruiting rules.

So how long do we think it'll take before the NCAA bans SKYPE like they did with texting? Using SKYPE is almost like getting another personal visit, which is limited per the NCAA. I bet the NCAA bans SKYPE.

Skype has been around awhile now. It's really hard to say. But I'm thinking they would have already, by now, if they were going to.
