He would be a QB at those schools because they don't have one committed this year. Charlie has to stay loyal to Dayne when he told him that they were only taking one QB. The only way ND takes Pryor is if he comes in as a WR. Charlie was just trying to get him excited about that idea. Obviously he's not.

I agree. Ohio State has good depth, but we didn't take a QB last year, and Pryor is the ONLY QB we've targeted this year(he's our only QB offer, one other QB was verbally offered by one coach as an athlete). That's why I didn't lump ND, Michigan, USC, or Florida into that group, because they all have better QB depth(realistically though, Michigan doesn't, but Mallett sorta trumps depth there, and they already have one commited this year).

I wasn't saying that he would be a QB where ever he goes(though I think any good coach would at least try him at QB simply because of his potential), just that he wouldn't be a WR like that poster suggested.

I think Pryor is a sick runner, but his throwing skills are less than impressive. I have seen Vince Young HS highlights and he had a better ball. I think Pryor will be a good QB, but I think Crist will emerge as the best in the class. It'll be known when he plays a healthy Sr. season as well.

Dayne is very underrated.. 4th best QB on Rivals? 5th best on Scout? The injury didn't help but these sites are embarresing themselves here. I can't wait til' the Elite 11.

I don't think his throwing motion is that bad. He has a good release, he just needs to work on his basic mechanics(foot placement, his form, and just developing consistency in his throwing motion). I really think he'll be special. He's just a winner.

Let's have Cryst and Pryor duke it out in the NC game four years from now. Settle it there. ;)

-------I think Pryor is a OSU lock and will just be like Troy Smith except probably bigger and better. Troy definently deserved to win the Heisman over Quinn this year but after the NC...eh. Maybe that was your offensive lines fault.

I'm still not going for that, at all.

----What? That Quinn deserved it? I think Quinn was wayyyyy better QB, but when it comes to the Michigan and USC games......our defense put him in tough positions for ball control and there for he had a tough time trying to come from behind all day long. I think if Quinn had a decent friggen defense he would've been all world this year.

I hope he is. I think he's further along as a passer than Troy was at this point. I'm not sure he has the arm strength of Troy(Pryor's long ball floats a little bit), but I think he's right there when it comes to accuracy and decision making.

The NC game was everyone's fault. It was a group effort.

Neither one deserved it, the best player in the country last year as A. Peterson with D. McFadden a close second.

-----The chances of them giving it to someone who was injured half the year and a sophomore are very unlikely.

When i think back about last season, nobody stuck out as hands down the most valuable player in all of college football. Quinn probably would have won if he had a better defense and, in my opinion, his recievers could have snagged some more passes against USC and LSU (It seemed like they were dropping balls that they would have normall caught). Troy Smith was a good choice, but he also had bad games, notably illinois and penn state. Mcfadden started off a little slow and came on strong at the end. Peterson to me would have won it hands down if he hadnt broke his collar bone.

The one thing about Quinn last year, was he missed a lot of open WR's at bad times. On a 4th and about 5 vs. Southern Cal, he had McNight open for a TD, but he overthrew him. He had that problem alot last year it seemed. He missed a few open WR's during the Michigan game as well, might have gone for TD's, maybe not. At this point it's all speculation. But IMHO, BQ was not his best. I thought Troy Smith was a more deserving Heisman winner.

Go Irish!!!!!!!!!

Ironically, the Penn State game put him in front of the Heisman race, at least IMO.

Which is kind of odd to me, i just looked up his stats in that game and he was 12 for 22, 115 yds, 1 TD and 2 INTs, the only thing he did in that game was run around the 35 yard line and pull that TD pass out of his a**.

Buddy, if there's word on Dan then it will be posted on his thread. If you read through the pages your question will be answered.

I like the way that BuckeyePlanet made a rule about such comments.

7) Please don't post things like "Anything new?" or "Anyone hearing anything?" or any variation of the sort. When info or news is available, we will post it.

Going up? - NCAA Football - Yahoo! Sports

In fact, Notre Dame's "low four-star prospects" should rise up the rankings long before they fall. Of the 11 commitments from four-star recruits, four have be assigned a 5.8 ranking, the lowest mark for a four-star prospect. But that group includes Sean Cwynar, Omar Hunter, John Goodman and Anthony McDonald. Cwynar, Hunter and McDonald seem almost certain to climb the charts. Goodman, meanwhile, could be in an interesting spot because he'll play quarterback this season. But as Indiana's top-ranked recruit, the Fort Wayne product figures to stick in the four-star group.

Oh come on, be nice to Rockne. I love his posts; his enthusiasm never fails to brighten my day. And what's the big deal about the occasional hijacking?

We love you, Rock. Keep loving ND.

Well, we're approaching a should-be exciting time in July similar to June with commitments. Dan McCarthy, Steve Filer, Jeremy Brown, Trevor Robinson, and Etienne Sabino are visiting very soon. I'm looking forward to some good news.

No - he has seen everything he needs to see I believe. Down to us and OSU.
I am also looking forward to some good news. Iwill be leaving on vacation for two weeks and won't be able to check the internet much. I look forward to returning the end of july and seeing a few more committments in the 2008 recruiting profiles section.

We had a small vaca a few weeks ago, and they had to keep asking me to not hog the computer in the lobby. You get so wrapped up in recruiting that you loose track of time and don't notice the line behind you. :waiting:

Rivals/Yahoo article on the State of Michigan recruiting this year

Rivals' guru weighs in on U-M's current class - NCAA Football - Yahoo! Sports

What is Michigan's greatest recruiting strength so far?

"It would have to be the offensive line, with four commitments, though I like what they already have on defense. [Defensive tackle] Mike Martin is a guy that should really excel there because of the way they like to use their nose tackle to clog up the middle of the line. He doesn't have the greatest agility, but he's strong and physical, and he'll get after it.

"On that offensive line, O'Neill is a real stud. He can play either left or right tackle, and I see him as at least a two-year starter. But he could be a guy that starts for three years or maybe even all four."

---------Georgia Tech '07 signee Steve Threet already has transferred from GT earlier this week to Michigan. Kind of odd being that they brought in Mallet this year and another 1 this year. He is from Michigan and didn't even have an offer from the Wolverines last year so Carr and co. obviously STILL don't feel confertable about Mallet being unconfertable being out of Texas. The Mallet thing was true that he was very home sick and thought about leaving, but has since adapted and started to enjoy himself, but I guess maybe Carr doesn't feel 100% on that so he brings in 2 other QB's. That'll be interesting, but I think Mallet stays put.

Steve Threet's Rivals profile and he was rated a 5.8 and 9th ranked Pro-style QB overall.
