Harry wouldn't have offered this guy 'til June, 2019, after he's already visited multiple SEC schools and owned OSU pajamas from his summer visits there.

Won't miss.

Some strong words towards a guy that has made pumped out NFL caliber players every year since he's been here and just won the Joe Moore award.

He's been great at developing select individuals (who were high 4/5 star players). But overall group never lived up to the expectations, IMO.

We got our teeth kicked in in the trenches against Georgia and Miami. We have potentially 2 first rounders, one possibly a top 5 pick. If he can't get the best line we've had in a decade to at least compete against the 2 best defenses we played this year, I'm not afraid of what the future holds at OL.

I don't expect to dominate Georgia or Miami. But our RBs rushing for a total of 39 yards against Georgia was non-competitive. That doesn't happen if you're a great OL coach. That definitely doesn't happen if you are a great OL Coach and you have elite talent.

They won the Joe Moore award.....

When your QB is incompetent at throwing the ball, it won't matter how good your o-line is because they'll put 8-9 in the box. The o-line didn't have a chance.

They wont he Joe Moore award because we dominated inferior opponents with a RB that rattled of several 50+ yard plays. And probably most importantly, Quenton Nelson's campaign was socialized more than any OL I've ever seen because he had so many highlights. And they're about to get drafted really high.

Beating up on opponents + Good running back + 2 potential first rounders is what got them the award.

Save the stats and the trophies - You are who you are once someone hits you in the mouth, and they looked like a D2 unit against Georgia.

Everyone can have opinions, but this guy is clearly trying to manufacture drama.

He's so tiring. I'm tired of going into a thread and sifting through his bologna.

wow - nothing pleases you. We'd throw Alessandra Ambrosio at you and you'd critique her instead of just simply getting in the sheets with her.

Lol, if the drama mama want to pretend we're screwed with out him, that's fine.

We just had the best OL well have. If 55 rushing yards against the best defenses is the ceiling, I'm OK looking for a new house.

I'm not worried about the OL without Harry. Well be just fine.

They will be but your position was harsh. Hard to call out the OL coach when WR's can't catch, QB can't throw and he ain't calling the plays. Those slow developing run plays when it's 6 blockers vs 8 guys in the box and a FS diving should'nt go on his resume.

What Koon is saying is the ugly truth. Our rushing performances against Georgia, Miami, Stanford and LSU left a lot to be desired. We were inconsistent. Dominated weaker teams, but had inconsistent performances against better teams. Now, don't dismiss his opinion simply because it differentiates from yours. His message actually speaks of what should be a common realization among all of us, and we shouldn't be blind to it. We needed to be better in those big games. It what separates 10-3 teams from 12-1/13-0 teams.

Adding to that, BW can run. It adds to the playbook. We were not limited in play calling. Tommy Rees wasn't standing back there in the pocket.

Being limited was never ND's problem, there was every kind of option on the table. Problem was execution and selection.

You need a nap.

A few need more than a nap lol.

To those that need a nap.... I wouldn't say last year's OL was the best ever, but one side of it was pretty close. Most of our issues were due to being one dimensional. Can't pass = crowd the line all day = a challenge for any OL.

UGA was top 5 total D and #2 passing D. They could single cover most teams all day long. Miami was close to leading the league in sacks, and Stanford was close to leading the league in INTs. Miami and Stanford especially knew we couldn't pass, and both were road games. Anyway you look at it, we were one dimensional, and teams that have better than average Ds can make a one dimensional team looks impotent, even when they have a great OL. Not on HH.

If you want to blame someone, BK/Long/Tommy/BW are the culprits. You saw what we did against a pretty good D (LSU) when we had someone (Book) who could throw the ball a little.

I'm assuming the top 5 will be Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Notre Dame, and Auburn and one other school based upon the article below. Tennessee fans are supremely confident but they believe that Virginia Tech is the biggest threat.

http://techlunchpail.com/2018/06/27/virginia-tech-four-standing-bryn-tucker/

VIRGINIA TECH AMONG FOUR STANDING OUT FOR 2020 FOUR-STAR OT BRYN TUCKER

Over the past several months, Bryn Tucker has emerged as one of the best offensive linemen in the 2020 class with an impressive offer list full of the top programs in college football. Recently, we caught up with Bryn Tucker to talk about his recruitment.

Tucker told us that Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Notre Dame, and Auburn are currently standing out in his recruitment. He added that those four schools are the ones recruiting him the hardest.

Why are the Hokies standing out for Tucker?

“The coaches are awesome and the school is incredible,” Tucker told us.

Tucker was on campus earlier this spring for the Hokies’ Spring Game which was an “amazing” experience for a couple of reasons.

“The fans were hyped and the atmosphere was awesome,” Tucker said.

He added that the visited impacted his recruitment and opinion of VT “a lot” and that he definitely wants to come back with hopes to visit VT sometime after the dead period ends. In addition, Tucker is hoping to take unofficial visits to Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Auburn after the summer dead period ends.

Vance Vice and Adam Lechtenberg have led the charge on his recruitment with Vice’s role likely to only grow as the 2020 recruiting cycle starts to pick up its pace. The good news is that Tucker has an “awesome” relationship with the Hokies’ OL coach calling him a “great coach and even better person.”

While the recruiting services are divided on where Bryn Tucker should play, the four-star Tennessean told us that he’s comfortable playing whichever spot a collegiate coach would want him at. Given his size at 6’5” and somewhere between 290-300 pounds, Tucker has the size to play guard or tackle.

At this point, the Hokies should be considered a serious threat as one of the constants over the past few months at the top of his recruitment alongside Notre Dame and Tennessee who were all among 5 schools that were previously standing out for him. Tennessee may have a slight benefit due to the fact that Tucker is from Knoxville, but he told us that he is simply looking for the school that “feels like home.”

Virginia Tech is a serious contender for four-star OL Bryn Tucker and should have an opportunity to get him back on campus after the dead period ends.

Bryn Tucker in the Recruiting Rankings
Bryn Tucker is rated as a four-star recruit by Rivals, 247 Sports, and the 247 Sports Composite. Tucker is ranked as the sixth best offensive tackle by the 247 Sports Composite, eighth best OT by 247 Sports, and second best offensive guard by Rivals.

Tucker is ranked as the best recruit in Tennessee by 247 Sports and the 247 Sports Composite, and the second best Tennessee recruit by Rivals.

Bryn Tucker’s Offer List (According to 247 Sports) (Stand Out Schools in Bold)
ACC: Virginia Tech, Louisville
SEC: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt
Big 12: Oklahoma
Big 10: Nebraska, Ohio State
Independent: Notre Dame
AAC: Memphis

Nice. That would be an amazing pick up...what are the odds realistically?

Here's what I got from early stories I read in 2017... if any school had even a chance at stealing him away from UT, it was ND. Dad came across as a UT fanatic but being a lineman, going to Knoxville Catholic (The Irish) and having a success story like Harrison Smith from your HS program are things that ND can capitalize on.

To your question, the odds?

Not great. I'll go 15% ND, 85% Tennessee, 0% everyone else.

I'd vote him - Most likely to be the next Q in the 2020 class

The fact that Cade Mays (his former teammate and a Tennessee legacy) chose Georgia last year, has to help us. Shows Bryn that you have to do what's right for you regardless of what pressure you might feel to go to Homestate U.

... or does it help UGA? Mays started Game 2 at LT in place of our old friend Andrew Thomas who got injured vs SCar.

Add to that, Mays little brother is a class of '20 3* OC and plays OL with Tucker at Knoxville Catholic.

I probably should have put UGA down as having the same chance as ND especially with UGA's shot at winning the NC over the next two years and the fact that it's only 3-4 hrs away.

But I'll stick with a TN - ND battle to make us all feel better.
