April 13th visitor confirmed. Btw, just an idea of the big time prospects at RB and their offers, here's a list of the top RB prospects that ND has a solid shot at right now (visited in 2019 or made top 8 aka McGowan)...

.9839 4* Chris Tyree - 31 offers
.9453 4* Seth McGowan - 27 offers
.9307 4* Michael Drennen II - 33 offers
.9001 4* Tirek Murphy - 28 offers
.8971 3* Reggie Love - 23 offers
.8955 3* DeaMonte Trayanum - 14 offers
.8889 3* JuTahn McClain - 18 offers
.8789 3* Kyle Edwards - 14 offers

BGI Podcast mentioned Kyle Edwards as one of the guys that could be a fall back if Tyree & Murphy don't pop, but I honestly hope Drennen ends up high on the board because he's a high academic and talented prospect that I think would be a good fit for ND. Ohio State is going to end up with 1-2 of Michael Drennen II, DeaMonte Trayanum, and JuTahn McClain, but they can't grab all of them so ND might have some nice pickings from these guys who are all good prospects.

So the analysts say OSU is passing on him and he's going to UK. I think I'd take him and not worry about the best WR that could join down the road (not saying say yes or that ND has been recruiting him) He;s a guy that could make a great slot or RB.

Have we had much contact with him besides an offer? Like, did he actually make it for the spring game? Because, yeah, at this point, I'm not sure why not go after him.

I haven't seen anything about them being in contact but I think he's the type of guy ND could go from 0-100 in a flash. I like his flexibility and I just noticed he yoked up since last season. He's listed at 195 now and looks like it in pictures.

This isn't gonna happen but the scenario set up well for ND had they stayed in touch and needed him.

I'm just still a little mystified as to why we didn't take a second RB this cycle. I know we're heavy in the current sophomore class, but it feels like we're putting a lot of eggs in the Kyren and Tyree baskets. If one of those guys goes down, for any reason, we'll be short of top-end talent again fast.

I’m of the opinion that if you can get 2 4* RB’s in one cycle then take them and it’ll work itself out. If you get 1 then that’s fine but if you have the option to like ND did this year with Tirek Murphy and Michael Drennen then you could take 2. I understand why didn’t however because then they’d have 7 RB’s on scholarship next season without attrition which is too high of a number. The bottom line is Lance Taylor needs to bring in 4* RB’s in each cycle hopefully and so far he’s 1 for 1. Next cycle looks solid too as ND has already had all 2 of their offered RB’s (Camar Wheaton and Donovan Edwards) on campus and their 3rd offer Will Shipley should be on campus in the fall. Hopefully ND can keep the momentum going at the RB position because pulling big time RB’s would be huge for this offense.

See I think they are in a horrible place when it comes to the '21 Class.

Shipley looks good, not a lock but ND's in the top group.

Besides that, the two who've visited I'd give 0% chance.

ND needs to make a move on Mar'Keise Irving for Shipley insurance and then find a bigger back that has the books. Jaylen Anderson is one that fits the bill, Rodney Hammond out of VA is another.. Weren't a lot of early no brainers out there. Need to study NW/Duke/Vandy/UVa offer lists to find qualifiers as they offer.

Three RBs every two years feels like the right pace. It’s a position with a high injury rate, so quality depth helps. And BK has always insisted his RBs know how to block, catch, etc, so it takes some of them a couple years to really see the field.

Agree I wouldn’t take another body just to take one in 2020, given the numbers returning at the position. But we apparently turned away/didn’t pursue solid four-stars this year, which will really up the pressure to bring in two good ones next cycle. Hopefully Taylor is as good a recruiter as advertised.

0.1% chance. visited this summer which is awesome but I'd expect Texas or SEC

unofficial top 4 of Duke (first offer), NC St (both parents alumni), Clemson, and ND. Visiting ND and Clemson for game-days as his only visits in the fall!
<iframe class="twofourseven-embed" title="Player Embed" style="max-width: 100%" frameBorder="0" width="600" height="200" src="https://247sports.com/PlayerSport/Donovan-Edwards-at-West-Bloomfield-226220/Embed/"></iframe><script async src="https://assets.247sports.com/Scripts/SkyNet/Shared/embed.js" charSet="utf-8"></script>
Michigan & OSU gonna pull him in for sure and ND got a visit, but I'd guess a distant 3rd.

Duke, N'Western, Michigan, USC, Vandy, UVA, etc on his offer list. Would be 1 year too late to offer this kid now. Recruitment is too far along.

Apparently offered by ND a while back. Didn't even know. He committed early to South Carolina but has been visiting places.

Has a UVA offer and not many others. State champion sprinter as freshman! Worth a look!

Duke, Michigan, USC, Vandy, UNC. Clemson jumped the pack with an offer recently. He's one of my favorites!

I'd agree with you that the position does seem a bit thin with who ND is in play for. I guess I was confident because Lance Taylor I think will do really well at ND and also I think they're in a good spot with Will Shipley. I'd offer Mafah and then maybe you could split the bounty with Clemson. The two ohio kids too I'd offer because they're talented and maybe they get on campus and fall in love. I think you're right the more I think about the position group but I have confidence that Lance Taylor will get it right in 2021. Right now this is their depth chart

2020 Roster
RS SR Tony Jones Jr.
RS JR Jafar Armstrong
RS SO Jahmir Smith
RS SO C'Bo Flemister
RS FR Kyren Williams
FR Chris Tyree

2021
RS SR Jafar Armstrong
RS JR Jahmir Smith
RS JR C'Bo Flemister
RS SO Kyren Williams
SO Chris Tyree

Ideally they can pull in 3 between the 2020 and 2021 classes with Tyree and two more. I think one of them should've been Tirek Murphy to go along with Tyree and then shoot for the moon with Camar Wheaton, Will Shipley, and Donovan Edwards but instead ND will likely be needing to take 2 in the next cycle!

Like I said. Slim pickin's.

I forgot Justin Johnson who was KAR's teammate. They obviously know about him.

Supposedly St Rita's Willie Shaw is very talented and had a good summer. He's got IL/IA/VA offs

Two other regional guys ND knows about are J Johnson's teammates at DeSmet, Taj Butts & Rico Barfield. Both have P5's but not one that checks the books box.

This would have been a nice get and it just sucks he can't be in this class. This is no disrespect to Clarence Lewis but Drennen is just a better football player IMO but we need bodies in the secondary really bad. I would love to look at Drennen maybe at corner over taking a shot with Lewis but I get it. Does Drennen even have the length to play the position? He goes to Kentucky and he could turn out to be like Benny Snell. Who would have been the best RB to go with Josh Adams at ND since?
