I asked a local network guy to ask his Tuscon affiliate what they thought but haven't heard anything yet.
My internal recruiting algorithm says Ransom to OSU / LSU / Bama makes sense. ND... not so much even though I think he personally likes ND.
He's an NFL talent and OSU has a track record so hard to blame him.
But somewhere here a year ago I said a safety pairing of him and Hamilton would be historic. I put Ransom in Hamilton's zipcode.
If he ends up Irish somehow... no one will be happier.

I want this to happen very badly. An elite safety is the missing piece for this class. He would have loads of playing time from the outset.

Sure that would be nice but I dont see a prospect anywhere that is interested in us at this point. This one on the other hand, strongly considered ND at one point and seems like hes getting cold feet to OSU. We need elite secondary prospects.

The Buckeyes 247 mod, for whatever it's worth, hears that Ransom will stick with his OSU commitment.
The way he phrased it though sounds like he's leaving room for Ransom not signing Wednesday, but staying committed. And Ransom and Phillips are the only OSU defensive players who haven't publicly announced that they're signing Wednesday. (Funnily enough, Phillips might flip to the Utes).

His academic issues were very serious prior to his relationship with Lyght. Maybe put differently, I would be surprised if future academic workload isn't a part of this.

To be clear, it wasn't just Loy that was talking about this. OSU had concerns with him signing today and multiple sources said he'd been in contact with other schools. Loy just happens to report ND's side of things.
