So the question remains: Is Steele currently in contact with the staff? If so, what are people putting the odds at? Do we have a serious chance to land him or is he just penciling in a safety spot if he decides to bolt tOSU at the last minute?

Pete Sampson has said there is no room in this class other than the spot for Foskey. As long as nothing random or crazy happens there is one spot and it’s all in on Foskey. Apparently everyone around ND is not expecting anything other than this at the moment and would be very surprised if things changed. I’m sure there is a plan B out there and some continuing contact with a few guys just incase the unexpected does happen.

I'm not seeing anything encouraging from the interviews and comments coming from Chambers. I know they all say they are solid until they're not but if you've been around long enough you develop Spidey Senses for the pageantry that is recruiting. I don't detect it here.

Thanks NDC, it's better not to get my hopes up. I'd be incredibly pleased with this class if we end with Foskey. That will give us three consecutive classes without holes. We can always afford more playmakers but we are keeping talent stocked at all positions.

That's all I'll ever ask for from the staff. They are showing what they can do when there aren't glaring weaknesses.

In two years of limited carries as the #3 and #2 back, GA3 posted:

144 car ... 916 yds ... 6.4 ypc ... 8 TD

Dexter this year = 142 car ... 941 yds ... 6.6 ypc ... 12 TD

I just threw out numbers. I think it's fair to say, GA3 produced in the carries he earned but am I in no way trying to insinuate he was better than he was or that he got shafted. He simply didn't earn more touches.

Obviously he didn't do what he needed to in 2013 to earn more carries. Kelly and crew never got the rushing attack on track and felt McDaniels was the best option even though his per carry avg was well below Folston and especially GA3's.

In 2012, there was Riddick & Woods and he filled that dangerous #3 RB role perfectly.

GAIII got his in situational carries. I suspect if he was getting all of those carries in one season, his numbers would drop considerably.
