Was offered last week.

Interesting prospect, great name. (Ran a 4.63 at the Opening Regional... a 4.4 would have been more fitting)

Offer list is ahead of his ranking. He's listed as a CB but you'd have to think FS is the spot. A rare occasion when ESPN has it right. As physical of a CB as you will see on tape. Plays in Florida's top class 8A, on a good team. His teammate Quran Hafiz is one of Loy's favorites and I've been waiting for the Irish to offer him but Speed beat him to the punch.

Just saw Bradley Jennings Jr. is on his team too. That's a kid I'd like to see ND take a run at. He's an FSU commit and has a Duke offer. His Dad was a star at FSU and would have been a star in the League but he was shot and almost killed right before the draft back in the mid-90's. Not sure if he had a pro career or not wehn he recovered(?)

Scout (VIDEO): ACC Trip in the Works for Florida's Seventh-Ranked Cornerback, Ameer Speed?

BRADENTON, Fla.--- Rangy 2017 cornerback Ameer Speed is inching closer to shrinking down his list of top suitors, but dishes out four schools that are positioned to make the cut in his recruitment.

It seems like Ameer Speed is an inch taller each time we lay eyes on him throughout the year, and Saturday's IMG 7v7 National Championship was another opportunity to lay eyes on the near 6-foot-4, 195-pound cornerback out of Jackonsville (Fla.) Sandalwood, who's just one of double-digit Division I prospects with Gerard Ross and Pro Impact Sports.

Speed takes full advantage of his size and really manhandles receivers at the line when operating in press-man coverage. Speed anticipates and picks things up quickly, and is a high-character kid that's fairly young for his class as well.

There's a lot of versatility and potential with this rising senior out of Duval County.

Speed, Scout's seventh-ranked cornerback in the Sunshine State, says he's in in the midst of trimming down his lengthy list of suitors, but mentions North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and Tennessee as some of schools absorbing his full attention heading into the 2016 campaign.

Speed breaks down the four aforementioned schools, what he's looking for in that one lucky college, his decision timeline and more in the video at the top of the page.
