Actually, this might be twisted, but I think this is much more positive than otherwise. I only partially agree, though -- we still get the leader/vet in the RB room, but he doesn't touches from the younger guys who really need it. This is absolute best case.

Fair point about now not taking touches away in practice.

if i remember correctly, there was info put out saying they expected him to be cleared medically when he first arrived or announced his transfer, so this def could have been something was found which disqualified him...ill have to see if i can find the quote i am referencing

“Notre Dame is definitely doing their due-diligence to make sure he’s healthy and he’d be a potential contributor. They’re not trying to waste a scholarship here.”

Kind of a head scratcher here. So there was a player that was wasnt blowing any doors off while playing at Stanford AND he was damaged goods? And ND said okay?

while he may have been cleared to play by a certain doctor doesn't always mean he was going to be cleared by ND doctors....we have seen it before in college football when a player will transfer to find a team doctor to clear them to play

Yeah failing the medical exam taken before the beginning of fall practice is the only thing that makes sense.

I'm thinking he convinced himself he could get another year out of whatever had been keeping him out for the last few years but when he went full go it became apparent the knee wasn't going to get the job done. Or maybe a new injury cropped up since he came to ND
