Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Sooner Commit Gets Physical in Season Opener
Finally a name to file away is Coppell sophomore Gavin McDaniel, younger brother of 2011 Notre Dame signing Cam McDaniel. The younger McDaniel isn't yet the dominant force his brother became but did look elusive on a couple of kick returns as well as on his only carry of the night, a 25-yard dash.

Following Cam's Footsteps
“I would be really excited to hear from Notre Dame later on down the road if they decide to recruit me,” claimed the Coppell freshman. “To be truthful, I wasn't really interested in them until Cam started getting letters and now that he's committed there, we are all Irish fans. With him paving the way for me, I'd love to follow in his footsteps because he's my big brother, and with him going to Notre Dame, that's really influenced me to find a school that I really like. I know he's excited about going Notre Dame and I would be excited also if I got that chance.”

If anyone is interested, Gavin lead his team with 20 carries for 116 yards as Coppell toppled the #1 team in the state of Texas, Allen, last Friday.

With the victory, Coppell is now 5-0 and ranked #2 in the state and #14 in the nation by MaxPreps.

That is awesome! Wish him the best of luck with his season!
