That's the logic. Then there are guys like Dorsey Levens.

Buried on the ND Depth Chart behind backs like Watters, Bettis, Culver, Brooks, Johnson with Ismail at Flanker, and Rice and Mirer getting touches at QB, Levens took his injured knee to Georgia Tech. He set a record there for yds/carry, made All-ACC and was "found" by the NFL.

He played 11 seasons in the NFL rushed for around 5000 yds and scored over 50 TDs rushing and receiving.

I wanted Levens to stay at ND but with the other Brooks and Becton coming in touches would have stayed sparse for him at ND. Holmes didn't have anywhere near the competition at ND that Levens had to see the field. Levens averaged around 5 ypc at ND but there just weren't enough touches available with the talent that Vinny Cerrato brought in each year.

Dude... you sound so old.

I like it!

The relationship I had with the coaches --I felt that if I wasn't going to have a good relationship with the coaches, I wasn't going to get anywhere in my career at Notre Dame," said Holmes.

"The culture believe it or not had a big factor in my decision to transfer. I felt like my whole time there, it just wasn't a good fit for me."

Was never very high on him. I remember his coaches were really pushing for him to go out of state and he also really like Michigan. Not always a red flag, but in his case due to the lack of eye-popping numbers, I thought it was. He needed to be great route runner with sticky hands and wasn't really either. I guess I'm just not surprised.

Evidently Corey left Purdue at the beginning of November.

Looks like he played in four games at Purdue? Just enough to blow a year of eligibility. We could use him (or Justin Brent) in ‘18, TBH.

Why did he transfer again? Was it just playing time? I always thought he had the potential to be pretty solid for us.

Absolutely nothing to base this upon, but I would guess PT is at the heart of it, given he's stepping down a level each time he leaves. Maybe he thinks he should be starting and all of the coaches don't see it that way. My second guess would be academics, but if I remember correctly wasn't he a decent student when recruited?
