Man, at some point BK and Co should compile all these transfers and show how few actually developed elsewhere... Very few actually did... For every Shaq Evans you have a few EJs...

Hard to believe he's fom 09 btw... Time flies

Off the top of my head, during BKs tenure, the transfers are as follows:

2010:
WR Shaq Evans- UCLA
OLB Derek Roback- Ohio
DB E. J. Banks- PITT
DB Spencer Boyd- USF

2011:
QB Nate Montana- Montana
OG Alex Bullard- Tennessee

2012:
DE Aaron Lynch- USF
CB Tee Shepard- various destinations, now at Holmes CC
OT Jordan Prestwood- Arizona Western CC

2013:
QB Gunner Kiel- Cincinnati
WR Davonte Neal- Arizona
WR Justin Fergurson- Western Michigan
S Chris Badger- BYU

2012, 2013 transfers are too soon to evaluate... regardless of what Lynch has yet to do.

Shaq Evans has become a reliable WR at UCLA and Alex Bullard starting at OG for Tenn this season.

Most of those players transferred over PT issues. Bullard didn't. His father died and he moved back to Tennessee to be near his family. Shepard never got Clearinghouse certification which is requisite for an NCAA athletic scholarship. He didn't transfer. He went home. Prestwood had academic issues.

I guess I was being too broad with the word "transfer". I was counting any player that was part of the program, but then left, whether it be by lack of playing time, grade issues, family reasons etc.

Not to derail the discussion of transfers, but I personally can't get over the What Ifs in recruiting. Just yesterday I was talking about the "what if" this staff recruited back then, the way they do now? Could they have convinced Barr to join in the family legacy? Could they have convinced Bennard to stay committed? What if the Darby situation never happened? What if Greenberry didn't flip at the last second? You could go all day with these scenarios, but my point is that those guys are serious game changers that very easily could be playing for ND right now...it's a tough pill to swallow when so many of us are desperate for ND to get back to those dominant days.

You would have to do a what if on the other side to be fair to BK and CW as well though. What if Manti hated the snow and the loss to Syracuse, and went to USC? What if BK couldn't get him back another year? Ditto for Floyd, Eifert and Martin. What if the coaching staff hadn't reflipped Tuitt back to ND after GT turned him? What if we hadn't gotten Folston or Bryant late? What if we don't use an undefeated season to seal the deal with Redfield? What if Jaylon Smith wanted to follow his brother to Ohio State? What if Steve Elmer wanted to stay home in Michigan? What if we didn't wait on Davaris to clear his academic issues and let him go to Miami without a fight? What if we don't successful deal with transfer thoughts from Nix and Ishaq?

BK and his staff have had a lot go their way, through a lot of hard work from them, for all the negative things that have happened to the program as well. Every single program has misses and losses, it's how many wins, how you take advantage of the wins, and how you mitigate the losses that matter.
