Those are some sick defensive numbers. Charlie is really looking for pass rushers.

“I’m still waiting on an offer from UCLA,” Ayers said. “They’re waiting for my transcripts. Notre Dame, I’m waiting for an offer from them, too, and they said the same thing. I also just took my SAT. I think I did good. It should be what they wanted me to get.”

For Ayers, the time at linebacker is valuable since he figures to move to the position full time in college. “I’ll play linebacker equally to defensive end this season,” said Ayers. “I’ll be switching on and off.”

Is there any real chance this guy leaves the West?

I'd say there is a legit chance. I think he'll end up at UCLA if we don't offer, but if we do offer, it could get really interesting.

This would assume that Dailey, Brian Smith, Kyle Jackson, etc. all don't get offers at linebacker as well.

Ayers is probably a tier ahead of them, however.

Ayers has listed his Top 4 as UCLA, Cal, Oregon and Nebraska. I think he says in Cali and ends up at UCLA.

We know Jackson is going to Georgia Tech, ND is holding on Smith indefintely and Dailey is also up in the air.

Can Ayers fit in?

116 tackles and 23 sacks last year.
