    Kurt “The Coward” Cignetti

I agree that Cignetti is a great coach, but he won at IU with the sport as it is now. He's a great coach because he won a title, and coaches at other schools that don't have a history in football haven't won. But do I think Cignetti would have done this at IU twenty years ago? Probably not. And...

Do you live in Indiana? That seems to be a dividing line among ND fans. I lived in SB when I was at ND obviously but otherwise have not lived there. I definitely preferred IU beat Miami. I don't care that it's IU, although I think the fact that a historic 'basketball school' won a championship...

I would say that applies to ND, too. There is no reason to think that a 12-0 or 11-1 ND is left out, even with a weak schedule. If we don't play A&M last year we are probably 11-1 and in the playoff.

They reward a team's record, and an easier schedule makes it less likely a team will lose. Our "best win" was against USC. So was Oregon's. The difference is Oregon was 11-1 and we were 10-2. If we didn't play A&M we're in ahead of Alabama and OU. And I doubt we could produce a schedule that is...

    Protect College Sports Act

I don't think NFL or NHL teams (where there is a hard cap) do that. The cap in this bill sounds like a hard cap.

    USC out, BYU in

I believe NCAA rules limit schools to one international game every four years, and ND would have to apply for a waiver to play one this year because we played Navy in Ireland in 2023. I don't know why we would play a game that requires getting a waiver, as opposed to one that does not (i.e...

    Nov 7 | Miami

Games in November vary, though. It could be 50 degrees during the day and 40 degrees at night, or it could be 20 degrees and snowing. I guess either counts as "cold" relative to Miami, of course.

Yeah, but "the committee" was not unbiased. The committee was very concerned about head-to-head, apparently, but Mike Riley played at Bama and his bio on the CFP website says that he was on the 1973 Bama "national championship team," while Ivan Maisel voted ND 6th in 1993 even though they beat...

Questions have to be asked- losing is one thing, but this is two years in row where the other team just scored a ton of goals unanswered.

They're just playing a lot better. The offense hasn't been great this year.

The defense is good. This is probably the best offense they've played all year, though.

Didn't the staff refuse to switch the defender on the PSU star last year? And we remember how that went.

Is it allowed to simply push players to the ground? Hopkins is doing that and nothing is called.

So now Lane is slandering Ole Miss to make his departure sound better? Does anyone believe this actually has anything to do with him leaving? Does anyone actually think that players are picking a school based on how their "grandparents" feel about events that took place there a half-century...

It is not as if Congress passed a law that only allows ND to be independent. Clemson is allowed to be independent, but neither Clemson nor any other school currently in a P4 conference wants to be independent.

'22 TX RB Jadarian Price (Notre Dame Man)

Is there any evidence, based on recent recruiting/transfer portal classes, that ND is being "cheap" compared to other schools? The draw for Price would have been the featured back somewhere else. A small hometown discount is one thing, but I would like to see evidence that he made half of what...
