Sounds like COVID is kind of to blame. Caused the season to go past the normal date, which is what the contract was based on. In a normal season Barca would have been done in May and he could have asked for his release then but since it went past June he is under contract for another year...

It's crazy, saw the lineup and thought wtf (along with every other City fan). Disappointing season all things considered. At least we won't have to wait too long before the next one starts.

I think it's like most sports, very difficult to win the title every year. I think the two years previous took a toll. Liverpool was definitely locked in the last two years, will be interesting to see how they do now that they've reached the top. Looking forward to a fun season.
