Anyone heading to the game? I just started looking at tickets online. Not sure I feel like driving 4.5 hours to watch Coan start.

Yeah. For some reason, Liverpool's resurgence gives me hope as a Notre Dame fan. At the end of the day, we all kinda picked bandwagon teams. Not like I see a lot of Leyton Orient fans on the board.

It's funny, I became a City fan specifically so I wouldn't be a bandwagon jumper. I had been watching a lot of soccer around the time Bill Simmons wrote an article about choosing an EPL side. This was in the Summer of '06. I believe he compared City to the L.A. Clippers. I didn't think it was...

As a City fan (pre takeover, I will add), I’m excited for Newcastle to start spending some money. The biggest problem with most leagues is one or two teams consistently dominate. The more elite teams in the EPL, the better. IMO.

Could be because we’ve watched backup quarterbacks like Rees in ‘10, Zaire in ‘14, Kizer in ‘15, and Book in ‘17 all come in and replace the starters, (for one reason or another) play better, and ultimately beat them out for the full time job. In each one of those cases the coaches thought...

I think that’s stretching the definition of an inside hire. At the end of the day I don’t care who he hires or where they come from as long as they are the best guy out there.

I don’t follow the message board stuff much for City but the impression I got was he was available in order to get Kane. Then when that fell through, he wanted out (to La Liga I believe). Saw Laporte did as well. Rumor was $60 million would have gotten you Silva. Nobody bought. Obviously glad...

Elston has been very good here. I'm quite surprised he has stayed this long but I'm happy he has. I do think if you ranked every position coach and coordinator (S&C as well) in Kelly's tenure, you'd find for the most part the best ones were outside his circle. Obviously most of it would be...

No he wasn't. At least on 247. #60 overall, 4 star. He was our highest rated guy that year though.

Yeah, meant KH (not JH). He's an elite player, wasn't an elite recruit.

Do we? Going by 247, we just have Mayer. Obviously, JH is an elite player.

They have a better qb. That is all. Switch QBs and we beat them easily.

We don’t get elite recruits anyway. We literally have one on the entire roster. No big loss.

You just can’t be this bad at the QB position and be very good.
