    2024 Spring Practice Thread

I'd argue a lot of the talk to date has been (unfairly) attached to recruiting rankings. There's absolutely no way if Minchey performed like Angeli did in the Sun Bowl there's all this talk of "knowing his ceiling" or that his play was merely "solid."

    2024 Spring Practice Thread

Sure, in that anything can happen and Minchey taking a step forward isn't that strange in a vacuum. Just the context in which the quarterbacks are discussed now has been weird. It took playing time for people to see Angeli differently and almost no one was saying he was going to overtake QB...

    2024 Spring Practice Thread

I'll also add the discussion around Minchey has been pretty bizarre to date. For someone who is supposedly ready to zoom up the depth chart we've basically seen no evidence that he's ready to do that or is actually on this path. Part of that is the lack of practice access for the media, but even...

    2024 Spring Practice Thread

The closed off nature of spring practice is awful and makes no sense. It's by far my least favorite thing about ND right now. Minchey is through 1.5 springs worth of practices in his career and no one has seen jack shit from him in any real way.

‘23 TN QB Kenny Minchey (Notre Dame Signee)

Minchey wasn't much of a runner in high school. Neither was Angeli in a really conservative system, but he's shown in college he can be a weapon on the ground. I think it's possible Angeli is a significantly better runner than Minchey.

    College Football Video Game '25

I'm not worried about that stuff at all. At least not for several years. I'm expecting single player dynasty mode to be very, very good and extremely fun. Using the same engine as Madden is worrisome, though. Gameplay potentially could be a big yikes even with a college playbook. But like I...

    College Football Video Game '25

Big, big worries about how EA servers are going to handle this game. Some of the biggest EA titles have been littered with constant issues for many years now and I'm assuming this game will have a massive launch this summer and heavy gameplay for weeks. I think there's excitement for the game...

    Clark Lea - Defensive Coordinator

I think that's 9 teams that were top 50 in FEI last year. Vandy was 99th.

    Everything Soccer

Maybe don't panic after a bad month (that wasn't even that bad!) and let Ange keep working his system? Wolves was the only really bad game recently. Played damn well with 1, then 2 red cards against Chelsea. Outplayed Villa, drew City, outplayed West Ham even worse, and yesterday's blowout win...

    Everything Soccer

Spurs have been amazing to watch this year, I don't get the angst about Ange's tactics at all. It's 10000% due to injuries and I love the way they've played even still. Just ripped Newcastle to pieces yesterday, feels pretty good.

    What is the "uniform surprise"?

    Stadium Renovations, Uniform Changes

Notre Dame is due for a nice dig underneath the stadium! Any project would take a huge investment, of course. And they shouldn't just roll out some sod and call it a day if they were to switch back. But like I said, it's kind of irrelevant unless they figure out the AIC situation because that's...

    Stadium Renovations, Uniform Changes

I think there will be a slow trickle down effect in the coming years. The Bills are switching back to grass in 2026 when their new stadium opens, for example. We might not see every program switch, but I'd bet most of the big and wealthy programs will switch to grass at some point.

    Stadium Renovations, Uniform Changes

Health and safety, public perception, and it's what the vast majority of players prefer to play on. I have a hard time seeing all of this being ignored in the coming years. ND can figure it out.

    Stadium Renovations, Uniform Changes

The team spends the vast majority of its time on a new indoor field. Figuring out natural grass in there will be the biggest challenge. ND will probably go back to grass inside the stadium within 5 to 10 years.

    New Apparel and Shoe Deal

I'm a broken record on this, but no one should get their hopes up about a NIL miracle.

    New Apparel and Shoe Deal

Yes, that seems to be a crafty way by Dellenger (and really ND because the article yesterday is clearly informed by what ND wants to be publicized) of counting some money but not all the money present in other apparel deals. For example, if Notre Dame's deal is structured similar to Ohio...

    New Apparel and Shoe Deal

Meaning UA is paying NIL money directly to student-athletes? Just to put some context on these types of figures...$30k to every football player at ND would cost over $2.5 million, or nearly a third of the current apparel deal with UA. Add $10k for every other varsity athlete at ND would cost...
