Kevin Richardson would be a decent hire in a vacuum. He can’t be the guy to follow arguably the greatest DB coach in ND history

We’re far enough away from the season 8 disaster that this show has made me want to rewatch the first 6 seasons. I will probably avoid season 3 of HotD like the plague though

Is there anything stopping ND from hiring someone like O'Leary while also getting a dedicated CBs coach? My hesitation with O'Leary is his lack of experience with CBs. I think the limit on coaches has been lifted and it more impacts who can hit the road to recruit.

Hard pass on Burris. The Giants didn't have a talented secondary so he could be getting a bad wrap, but they were awful. ND can do much better than that.

I thought the same personally. No clue if he wasn’t good for the Chargers. That said, Western’s defense was elite for MAC standards. 13 points per game over their last 11 games. My guess is a P4 DC is his next step rather than a return to ND for DB coach, though

I think he’s a very good coach, but Freeman’s mentality and aggressiveness is going to enable creative and strong special teams play no matter what IMO. I find this one very surprising moreso than disappointing
