'21 RI DE Jason Onye (Notre Dame Signee)

I'm not certain at this point that Thomas will be big / strong enough to hold the point of attack on run downs. If Mullins dies make the move back to DE I wouldn't be surprised if he plays the Burnham/ Tuihalamaka role on high percentage run downs, while Thomas plays nearly exclusively on high...

'21 RI DE Jason Onye (Notre Dame Signee)

Yep, that's how I have it as well. Some of those 2nd and 3rd team guys are probably interchangeable and may fluctuate as the season goes on... That could be the difference in getting 20'ish snaps per game and 10'ish snaps per game, which is substantial.

You're right, I missed Mukam. I think he'd ideally fit into the 3rd team NG spot. At least to start the year. Updated to reflect my omission.

Assuming everyone stays healthy (which they probably won't) and assuming ND plays approximately 65 defensive snaps per game, I'd like to see the following snap share to start the season... Nose Guard Jason Onye (30) Tionne Gray (20) Armel Mukam (10) Other (5) - including sub package pass rush...

'21 RI DE Jason Onye (Notre Dame Signee)

NG: Jason Onye 2. Tionne Gray 3. Armel Mukam DT: Francis Brewu 2. Elijah Hughes 3. Chris Burgess Yep. Sign me up for this... If they haven't been already, I'd start cutting weight off Keon Keeley and Cole Mullins immediately. I'd like to see them both in the 260-265lb range, as the #3/#4...

Could be a complete stud, but I'll believe it when I see it. Kickers are probably some most mis-evaluated players at the high school level. Watched his junior film and he's an obvious candidate for kickoff duties and a pretty solid punter. Only kicked 3 field goals (3/5) as a junior, with a...

ND's Talking Heads ... The good, bad & ugly

Anybody bitching about ND's inability to win it all through the Kelly era and to this point in the Freeman era is simply a complainer rather than a competitor. During that period of time, it wasn't just the Ohio State's and Alabama's of the world who won championships. Auburn Florida State...

'25 IL DE Christopher Burgess (Notre Dame Signee)

I've heard that number and other numbers in that range as well, from 2 ND media sources (Driskell and I believe Brice) and a third source that shall remain nameless.

'25 IL DE Christopher Burgess (Notre Dame Signee)

Driskell keeps noting that he's actually heard that Burgess will come into spring north of 290lbs. I'll be curious to see if that's accurate. I really do think he could be a stellar 3-tech in that 295lb range. I've been saying for a little while that with Burgess obviously bulking up to play 3...

    2026 ND Portal Targets

It was a typo. I meant to say NIL. OSU brough their NIL in house and word on the street is that everything goes through Bjork.

OSU brought their NIL in house. Who the exact decision makers are, I'm not exactly privy too, but I don't know that school officials make those decisions exclusively.

    2026 ND Portal Targets

John Brice reported that OSU's athletic department was $30 million in the red last year, despite winning a national championship. Word on the street is that Ryan Day told Ross Bjork (AD) that it would cost approximately $45 million to keep a top roster at OSU this year. Rumor has it that the...

To "steelman" Prister, I don't think he communicated his point as well as he could have, but I think he was largely talking about the additions of Porter and Graham... What I think he was trying to say is something along the lines of "rather than landing proven production in already developed...

    2026 ND Portal Targets

Heard that as well. Assuming $17'ish million from rev share, it's roughly the same number in NIL as well if it's closer to the top end of what Brice was told. That's roughly where I would expect ND to be. The most aggressive teams will be in the $40-$45 million range when everything is sorted...

    2026 ND Portal Targets

Think about how much better a guy like that, who commands a double team constantly, makes guys like Drayk, Kingston, Jaiden, Jaylen and Madden. When you're a linebacker that doesn't have a guard or center working up to you immediately every snap because they're preoccupied with the front... That...

‘24 IN WR Mylan Graham (Notre Dame Transfer)

Lol, I greatly appreciate the sarcasm! That said, when people give those comps they're trying to use a player that people are extremely familiar with, rather than somebody obscure. Also, when referencing comps, people are trying to indicate the highest level upside of what they feel that player...

    2026 ND Portal Targets

I wonder if Chris Burgess moving to DT by all accounts and ND looking to add Brewu + Gray in combination with Mukam coming back, doesn't cause ND to slim Cole Mullins down slightly into the 265lb range, where he can fill a Junior Tuihalamaka / Jordan Botelho role as as run down DE... If they...

It's just a play style and body comp. Nobody is saying he'll become Dez, only that he plays a similar game.

    General team info

If these weights are fairly accurate, really happy with them pre spring. Ian Premer at 6'6, 235lbs is great. Not arriving until the summer so hopefully they get him in a strong program back at home. Would like to see him at 245lbs by kickoff in September. Joey O'brien at 6'4, 190lbs is great...

    2026 ND Portal Targets

I'll give you an NFL comp... Go back and watch Dez Bryant at Oklahoma State. I genuinely think Porter could be that. Big, fast, physical and ultra competitive. A big guy that can beat you in space and is better in the short game than you think, but can absolutely get down field and body people...
