Maybe hiring WR coaches from schools that can’t throw the ball isn’t a good idea
Brown deserves blame but not even close to all of it. It's so bad what they are trying to do with the WRs and offense in general that blame also goes to Denbrock and Freeman. What they did to the WRs at Provo is football criminal. It was so obvious they were gassed taking off plays, and so slow running routes.
It's common practice for WRs when they run a bunch or deep routes to be subbed out briefly. But Freeman states well we had plans to put graham in the 4th series, but it was 2 minute. Premer had to go in during the 2 minute drill series. When a player is gassed, sub them out. THAT SIMPLE. If a player can't give 100% to a route, they are out. Gilbert is terrible at blocking, why does he never come out?
Also, the checks that constantly are happening at the LOS, it's clear they are completely restricting the offense. That's why this is more than just Brown and or Denbrock issues. A head coach with a clue involving scheme would know how moronic this is. But Freeman is a defensive guy, and he wants the offense to compliment the D and not put the D in bad spots. OK, that can work, but then don't play that BS scheme on D allowing UNC and BYU (average offenses) to go on LONG drives and score TDs. BYU & UNC are 7 for 7 in the redzone for TDS. That's insane. The only 2 offenses we've played with somewhat of a pulse. I guess purdue as well, our scheme was so good that game, players and coaches locked in, then we completely abandoned it for UNC and BYU. Make it make sense?!?!
