I think a lot of people are over thinking this game. Its our first real test, a road test and we haven't played anyone. Are we the team we all think we are? And someone brought up great points on an earlier post in this thread, we finally have a QB whose numbers are indicative of the talent that he actually is. We have an insane level of depth on the DL that I have never seen in my fandom, a true freshman RB that is lightning and a Nolan James who always finds a way to gain at least 3/4 yards per carry. I think this game will be close for the first quarter or so, but I do not see any chance in hell that BYU will be able to string multiple scoring drives while also shutting out our offense. The team has been boring in what has felt like six preseason games, but this brand of football is what's needed to go far into January.

I keep hearing people say "Notee Dame hasn't played anyone as good as BYU this year". Do people not realize that goes both ways, who have they played, no one. I'll take it even further, in the last two seasons ND has played six teams better than this BYU team. They haven't played anyone as good as ND in the last decade.

Yeah the gap between who ND has played and BYU is a lot smaller than who BYU has played and ND

Why are you seeking this shit out? These are glorified burner accounts. You don't have to hear from these guys if you don't search "BYU Notre Dame" on twitter to find rage bait.

I don’t have social media, but watch a lot of you tube pods. BYU fans were just like this last December when we declined the bowl. It was shocking how delusional they were acting in the comment sections.
Most of these posts are real man.

Does YouTube TV have ABC…anyone know? Because DIRECTV ABC is still blacked out. And that’s just not going to work?

Just signed up for a free YouTube trial here in Indy but this channel log is hard to figure out. What channel would ABC be on?

Best $20 you’ll ever spend. About 30 seconds ahead of streaming apps and crystal clear picture. Perfect for games on CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox

Depending on where you look, we would have been a 4-5pt favorite over TT last year, and 2026 ND would be a ~4pt favorite over 2025 ND.

Imagine thinking last years TTech is a better team than this years ND,… like, good luck with that. Hell, ND LAST YEAR was better than Tech, and ND is a better team this year imo

I watched that. Their line stunts basically open up the run counters for us. Interesting.. makes me wonder if this was the game Denbrook has been “practicing “ the tight end lead block for all season.

Protection needs to be ready if they blitz as much as previous games. IF they give CJ time, he should beat the cover 1.

I thought it was Cig doing most of the trash talking ahead of time, has Sitake been running his mouth? I've only seen the BYU fans embarrassing themselves
Sitake seems like a good guy and a good coach. I like him from what I have seen. He has been nothing but complimentary.
Indiana fans were also talking tons of shit before the game in the tailgating lots. That is why I didn’t want them winning last year lol.
Yeah, tbh, fuck them and their Johnny Come Lately fans. I don't like OSU but I am pulling for them against IU. They need to be humbled again.

I honestly think the offense has been holding stuff back and Ash started the Stanford game bringing lots of pressure on the first play then kinda backed off a little as the game went on. I think he's going to throw different packages at their QB.

I'm hoping this is the case as well. I think Denbrock said something like they're not holding back, but I think we haven't begun to really use our aerial assault in full.

I get being a fan or your team but this is ridiculous. BYU fans are delusional.

It's so bad...I've been talking trash and pointing out the delusion and their bogus conference all day. There's a lot of BYU guys that are just farming for engagement at this point and I usually stay away from them, but there's some dudes that really think they're something because they can beat Utah once in awhile. They try to forget that Texas Tech, a one dimensional team, prison sexed them twice last year. Facing an okay in state rival like Utah isn't the same as facing a playoff capable and experienced team like us. We have an immense amount of 4 star and some 5 star talent. BYU classes rank in the 50s, middle of the road, mostly 3 stars with a few 4 stars. We're better than Utah, and better than Texas Tech.

They also think their high attitude stadium is going to absolutely cripple our team, never mind it doesn't seem to affect the other teams that beat them in Provo. High altitude affects sports like soccer, it's not a big factor in football where plays are 5-10 seconds.

WIN JUST ONE FOR THE ROCKET

On December 1st, 1990, serviceable midget Ty Detmer was awarded the Heisman Trophy over Raghib "The Rocket" Ismail, the most electric player CFB had seen to date. Hours later, Detmer suited up against a bad Hawaii team coming off a loss to Colorado State. He completed 22 of 45 dink and dunk passes to his BYU teammates and an additional 4 passes to guys in Hawaii jerseys in a 28 to 59 loss.

Weeks later in the Holiday Bowl against unranked A&M, Detmer completed 11 of 23 dinks and dunks with one pick before being knocked out of the game in the 2nd half. BYU lost 14-65.

Fortunately for Detmer, he played for Lavell Edwards, who was decades ahead of the times as a passing game architect and loved nothing more than throwing the ball, while Ismail played WR for Lou Holtz, who had not yet been notified that the forward pass had been legalized.
Detmer was an elite interception-thrower, leading the nation with 28 that season, while his closest competitor, BC freshman Glenn Foley, who would treat ND to a bad day years later, finished with 21.

BYU played one respectable opponent all year, hosting #1 Miami in September. It was a great upset which I remember to this day. Detmer owes his hardware entirely to that one game. That 1990 season was his junior year and the worst of Detmer's final three seasons, but it was the only season where his team defeated a good opponent, so that was the year when he was given the Heisman.

Days after Detmer's career ended, Ismail faced #1 Colorado in the Orange Bowl, "defeating" the Buffaloes with a legendary 90-yard punt return for a TD with seconds left, despite announcer Bill Walsh's insistence prior to the play that, "They CAN'T kick it to him!" though the return was called back due to a controversial flag for an illegal block.

Hadn’t seen it mentioned by anyone, Kelly Poppinga has been around basically since playing in the NFL with BYU or Bronco at UVA but this is is first year as DC. So this is really his first spotlight game, and second real game at all.

Arizona put up 17 in the 1H before being shut out in the 2H. 327 yards of offense. Their 2H drives went holding - punt, personal foul - punt, on downs at the 21, and sack, sack - punt. Basically had no run game but threw it on them quite a bit in 1H.
