That would mean 6 ACC teams, meaning Clemson or Stanford is not part of the “deal”

Perception wise you really need some of Auburn, Va Tech, Virginia, Clemson, Duke to be a pre season ranked type team based off 2026/portal to not be completely laughed at
None of it matters if we go undefeated

I actually think Auburn might be a little better next year. Golesh is a good coach. Prob not get it totally turned around by then, but better than they've been.

I assume they will portal a top 8ish QB of the portal cycle

Yeah next year's schedule is a joke, makes me wonder if they roll with a QB on the roster or go get a stud with experience.

Auburn is 18th in Team Talent, and will have a top 15 recruiting class coming in. They also are power rated ~#25 right now already.

If they can get a decent QB in the portal, they certainly are capable of being ranked.

Hard to claim independence when more than half the schedule is from the ACC. I still struggle to see what the benefit of being independent is.

Honestly... this is what I would aim for every year if I were AD:

UTEP-level team
Michigan State
Fresno State-level team
Pitt/BC
Bye Week
(Insert rotating big game,... UGA, Miami, Texas A&M, OU, Bama etc)
Random ACC, call it Virginia here
Navy
Eastern Michigan- level team
(rotating big game as above, or at least decent PF)
BYU
Texas Southern
Stanford

There are people at the university who are being paid to figure all of this out. Just play who is in front of you and sort out the rest as you see fit.

Winning a title as an Independent before the last shoe drops would really be the chef's kiss fuck you of all time. No time like right now. Would love to see them beat Miami in November and win a championship having beaten IU, Texas Tech and Ohio State along the way. Shit, I'd stop watching football for a few years just to bask in that.

You want to play 5 fuckin G6 teams in a year, and think that will improve ND's schedule? :ROFLMAO:

eta: wait, my bad. ACamp as AD. This makes sense.

That implies a big 10 schedule would automatically be better, which is would not. These conferences are so bloated with crap that you end up with incredibly unbalanced schedules year to year.
At least a higher chance of being better. Indiana, USC, Oregon, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan (some throw ins like Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, etc) is a hell of a lot better than Miami, Clemson, and FSU and a bunch of nobodies.
