He isn't "considered" a starter they run 11 and he is a starter alongside Metcalf and Pittman in the slot.

Pauling and Fields had proven production. Besides Faison, none of the others on this roster have it. That is the difference between last year and this year. Several have been on the team for a few years and have yet to show they can become productive. You can name Greathouse if you want. Sure, he did some good stuff in one game in the playoffs but he has been here for a few years and hasn't shown much else, definitely not consistent production.

As early as next weekend according to Hansen. I can't recall an injury timeline with a more varied outlook between BGI and ISD. I wouldnt really characterize Hansen as a BSer either. Curious what shakes out.

I'd imagine it means that Porter dresses for Purdue, maybe gets in late if they feel good about him and then he gets eased in week by week.

In the video snippet, Hansen said he could be back next week for Purdue. It would be nice if he could suit up. Maybe get some snaps against NC and Stanford. If he is who we think he can be, him being a legit option for BYU would be huge

I think any positive contributions from Porter this year should be considered a pleasant surprise. That's a bummer considering we probably had to pay up to get him from the portal but he didn't look smooth at all in the summer camp videos and i would assume there's a big gap from him being healthy enough to practice and getting to a point where he is one of the best 4 or 5 options in the WR room.

ISD seems like good info, but I don't know how people can listen to Mike Frank or Flammang. Both of their voices are grating in very unique ways.

"We never said it was career-ending. Some schools stated it felt like it was. We don't have the medical information.

No matter when Porter returns, he won't be able to step in and contribute right away. He's got to get reps, learn the offense, find comfort and then be able to play over guys who are already contributing."

They never said it as a reported fact. They alluded to it repeatedly.

I am absolutely an ISD-stan. Hit and Hustle is probably my favorite pod during the week. I appreciate that ISD doesn't report rumors/hearsay but there are certainly times that I wish they would. Only the good ones though lol

I tuned in for a few minutes of a Hit and Hustle once and Greg was like don’t know if he plays again and then the chat freaked out and he was like guys I’m not reporting it

They very much want their cake and eat it too with regards to Jagusah/Porter reports

From what I remember the general consensus was "Don't expect anything from Porter this year" so with current reporting it sounds more like "Porter may be available in the next month and speculating/expectations of being a contributor by end of season". I'll take that as a major upgrade.

With NIL continuing to grow larger, it begs the question moving forward in cases like Porter: “WIll teams start demanding physicals before they agree to sign a player?”

I think right now, agents are cashing in on knowing that premier position players can leverage demand over supply. Didn’t Porter’s team refuse any medicals during his free agency?

ISD doing damage control. Was listening to a pod from 2-ish weeks ago and I recall them saying that he can "only run in a straight line."

They weren't the only ones and no damage control is needed. This didn't start out well with the vagueness of the injury, to no given timelines to reporters seeing what he looked like in limited practice reps. Others reported he couldn't cut just a few weeks back.

I like ISD and Irish Illustrated and don't think they've shared anything hyperbolic. If Porter is now surging in his recovery, that's great news for everyone. But remember that he hasn't really played football for nearly a year, I don't think he's going to show up and start Moss'ing defenders.

It'll be great if he just continues to a fully recovery and starts to earn snaps before end of season. We all hope he becomes a weapon. It'd be nice if we could just celebrate some good news instead of trying to shame anyone on the wrong side of the event. Weird behavior.

It was. And it's clear ISD is getting no actual info but problem is they just default to worst possible scenario.

Examples, Jagusah, shocked if he played in 2026 - maybe, but you know how long a 16 month season is and he had surgery 6 months ago assuming it’s same foot injury Augustine had which is 5-6 week recovery.

Tae Johnson - "Thinking he'd be back by Miami is optimistic." That would be 9 weeks removed from surgery. I don't think that's optimistic at all.

Quincey Porter - Surprised if he even plays in 2026 (Gregg as late as this week). Really? Is anyone going to take that bet, again in 16 game season? I'm not.
