Kate Koval is leaving LSU for personal reasons.
It appears that Kate (who is from Ukraine) is leaving because LSU signed a player from Russia.
I didn't realize that Kate's Dad is in the military in Ukraine and has fought in the conflict.
Sounds like it was a tough decision.

Obviously not. But it is also understandable that Kate would have a tougher time dealing with it since her Dad was actually in the military.
Many in her position would've stayed, many would've probably transferred. I'm not going to judge her one way or the other.

Kim Mulkey will never get high marks for "sensitivity" nor any really human character traits really, so I doubt she ever flinched about bringing in this very good young Russian, regardless of Koval. On the other hand, Koval herself seems a bit "sensitive" about who she is being coached by, and whether the LSU competition might (now) be a bit much for her. She always looked unhappy at ND about playing time and "role." So .... real cause of transfer?

So what happens if one of the coaches or players is later discovered to be Russian on her new team? Or when she joins the workforce and one of here fellow employee's are Russian? I guess she should have everyone blood tested on the team to ensure no stinking Russian's are on the team.

What hasn't been mentioned here is the Russian gal is a 6-5 post player who played professionally in Moscow. So Kate saw the writing on the wall re playing time, which has eluded here in her first two CBB stops.
