Loy also confirmed what Driskell said last year about Kelly bungling the Jalen McMillan recruitment. An assistant coach, who Loy revealed to be Chip Long, had Jalen read to flip but he wanted to talk with Kelly and have a relationship with him before he flipped, but Kelly didn't put in the effort.

Loy didn't mention it in this podcast, but years ago he said that Curtis Samuel really wanted to come to ND. Even though he had an offer, Kelly and his lead recruiter (Diaco?) didn't give him the time of day, and if they did he would've been Irish.

I know a lot of visits are probably backdoor payed for by schools but how do some of these guys have the time/money for all these visits.

The school pay for official visits if I'm not mistaken, so that helps. There is talk this guys are getting money just to visit, so that helps as well.

we used to not do it because it was against the rules. We do now. Had parks and folorunsho come visit together with our money
