Seeing as our only freshmen this year didn’t see the floor at all, I’m not sure we can count on any of the incoming class to make a big splash.
She was injured for the entire year. She would have played if she was healthy.

With the exception of a Center (none of these incomers are anywhere near a true center), the talent mix seems pretty good. Abii is a very strong-looking person, and can be a power forward to my eye. Certain players (ex. Lewis) seem to have very mature natural guard movements. What bothers me (nightmare/bad vibes-wise) is that almost everyone of these girls has had, or still has, something seriously wrong about them physically -- from season-ending leg injuries to diabetes. When they all take the floor in practice next season, Notre Dame Nation needs to institute season-long faith-healing Grotto sessions. If everyone's truly breakneck-hustle healthy, then Hannah plus four 6'2' athletes (Cass/Abii/Ragone/Macy) might be hard to deal with. ... or let KK and Jenica Lewis do their things too.( ... I'm forgetting someone; you guys can make the correction.)

Ivey does not appear to think a true center is necessary

Miles' career comes to an end on the TCU bench with an injury to her left leg. She went down at the end of the 3rd, they were treating her like a cramp, but she's been hobbling around at times like it was something else. She was a non factor in the 4th, 0-4 including 3 missed layups to go with with 1A and 1TO as SC ran away with it.

I am a mean person and admit it
I like that she ends with a whimper

She was nails in the 1H, though. I feel indifferent about her as a person, but I would’ve liked to see TCU upend Usc.

In order for ND to make a push to the Final Four next year they'll need a veteran off ball guard that can average double digits in support of Hidalgo and two bigs, at least one of which can score.

PG: Hidalgo
G: Bransford
G: Transfer
F: Prosper
F: Transfer

Bench
G: Lewis
F: Transfer
F: Macy
F: Abii

Neither Abii nor Lewis were the stars of the game but both looked like "players" to me.

Abii looked like the most physically mature of all the players out there. She readily took the inside rebounding position on foul shots. She has natural explosiveness as to speed and direction change (of the forward type, not the guard type.) I believe that playing with Hannah and Cass will be a revelation for her in terms of defensive menace. She has great tools for that. She really needs offensive polish. In that she's similar to KK who bullied high school girls close to the boards but college requires more.

Lewis looked also physically mature in a two-guard way. She's fast and alert and I believe will immediately understand floor spatial fit. She too wants to play defense. She was fairly passive on offense with all these want-to-shoot scorers, but took her own shot calmly like she had confidence in it. I think she should develop into a good bomber. She looked smoother covering the floor than almost all the others but perhaps two or three.

There ARE however several of those girls who are ready for college now. The USC girl can really score, and the Wooden Award winner is one hell of a college lead guard already --- if she can stay healthy. There are two dunkers in this group --- did not do so in the game. Both looked controllable in game conditions though, as did the UConn big.

Seconded. Both Albi and Lewis looked like players, two of the better ones in the game. Albi’s very athletic similar to Prosper but way ahead of where Cass was four years ago.
Loved Lewis’ calmness, looks very relaxed but is quick. Threw some nice passes but she’ll help immediately in Moore’s role as a shooter until Hildago is gone.

so the two of them look like good solid players who will come in and contribute right away?
That is very good

I thought that both of them looked mature enough to rapidly fit in and grow ... and no question that talent existed ... so, yes.

Abii should provide "muscle" a la KK and Lewis brains and bombs. Both seem to have good "attitude."

Ivey needs to go get the big from Iowa State that just entered the portal. That would be huge...literally.

Audi Crooks would be an absolutely terrible fit on this team.
Agreed - a ball dominant post that clogs things up for Hannah is not the answer. Cowles was kind of bad poor man’s Audi this year and it didn’t help.
They need an athletic big who can defend. Double points for someone who can pick and pop.

Crooks is apparently an all time bad teammate too. That’s the last thing they need after Miles

This would be a complete 180 of how she's viewed as a person outside of basketball. I have no clue how she was as a teammate this year but the entire ISU is in the portal, so doubt it was Crooks alone causing issues.

There was a girl that they were waiting on to commit or not, I don't recall her name but did she commit to ND for next year?

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty surprised at this USC vs UCONN game. UCONN was in pretty good form coming into this game.
