If they blow out Miami. I’m officially on board with it. If it’s a close game then you reconsider that Bama wasn’t good + bad culture and quit. Oregon apparently may have been sick, injuries finally did them in and Dante Moore just sucked ass in that game.

If they blow out Miami I will tip my cap. You can don the tinfoil hat.

IU’s last two seasons have to be the most improbable event in the history of sports.

In this game (especially in a 12 team playoff) five stars and depth matter, yet here they are blowing out teams with a bunch of 2-3 stars and only playing 13 guys on defense.

I could see this possibly happening in the pre-BCS times. A bunch of seniors, an easy schedule, and getting lucky in a bowl, but now? It’s statistically impossible especially the WAY that they’re winning.

Hmmm, probability statements require a defined random process. Statistics only works when you are modeling a stable random process, and college football is not one, so calling this "statistically impossible" kind of misunderstands probability. You can model non-stationary systems, but once you do, "statistically impossible" no longer applies.

I personally laugh envisioning Cigs having 10 autists shoved into a janitorial closet in the stadium hacking the headsets.

I really wish we had actual portal news to discuss, specifically some 300 lb DTs

I agree that it's ridiculous to call Indiana's run impossible but that's an interesting perspective on statistics there

Stars have mattered literally every other year they’ve existed until this year. If anything, they’ve become better over time on predicting outcomes not worse.

I’m suspicious but you can’t fake how Mendoza played. He was incredible.

Countless examples of guys having great college and pro careers coming from 3 star or lower. IU staff has a knack for evaluating talent and has an older roster. They don't outsize teams in the trenches. Cheating talk makes ND fans look very silly lol very conspiracy minded

Given the fact that the team that won it all two years ago was caught cheating, college sports has a well established history of programs cheating and the amount of money flying around presently it’s a legitimate topic/concern in my opinion.

If Indiana accessed film the way I'm guessing that they did (if they even had knowledge prior to the game), then I'm not even sure that I'd call what happened hacking.

This is the fairest basis for the conversation. It also has nothing to do with Indiana.

You stating "they're great, you guys are coping" is underselling how great they're performing relative to their team talent, with respect to age and experience.
Tough to believe greatness when you see it I guess

Great point, at certain position groups they're performing as expected with respect to experience, and at others they're overperforming to an insane degree. That might not be because they're cheating, though

It does in that it has to do with all of college sports given the money now involved and the clear history of programs being willing to cheat.
